I thought I saw him knocking a ball around at half time tonight. Granted it could've been another black player the camera was so far out.

that would have been barker not ndo

If it's true don't be surprised to see him end up at Drogheda in the useless manager at rich club signings merry-go-round like Dave Rogers and Glen Fitzpatrick.

I think Ndo can still do a job though.

Sean Connor would prob sign him in the hope he can "save him".

If he's released he'll be a free agent, therefore it's not a transfer.

I'm just wondering though, can you play a player you signed after the window? I seem to remember Steven Pressley not being able to play for Celtic until after the window opened despite being sacked by Hearts and signed by Celtic.

You oughta know by now that the el makes up the rules as it goes along.

Though, afaik, if a player's without a club, he can be signed and played.

Seems to have faked an injury, alledgedly.

Yes. If you sign a player that is unattatched he can play immediately.

fair enough...but why would anyone touch a player sacked ...note the sacked not released even though it equates to same thing. he is not being released from contract y mutual consent so he can find other club..he is being sacked for breach of contract...surely most clubs would want to know why and when they find out why wont touch him with 40ft pole...some pats fans might though..over his head :-)

At moment all this is pure speculation as still waiting on confirmation

This is the el we are talking about, nornal rules need not apply, any hint as to why hes gone if true?

Eric Lavine still got a club after Longford sacked him. Adrian Mutu was sacked and still got a club. I guess, if true, it'll all come out in the open anyway.

Assuming the story is true, with his gargantuan wage demands only Bohs or Drogs could afford him.

I'm not sure but he was sacked alright. There were similar stories about a certain Ipswich player doing the same while over here.

Seeing as we've turned him away before, I don't think Doolo will sign him.

Useless manager

Fitzpatrick worked his socks off last night. Fairly impressive debut. Didn't really have any chances but held the ball up well and worked hard throughout, winning his fair share of headers.

I don't think Ndo will be able to play for an eL side this season. I believe he would need to have been a free agent before the transfer window closed. He would however be able to move abroad to say the UK as their transfer window is not closed yet.

I dont think he'd be looking to stop playing for management just yet, seeing as he was signed to Pats as a player.

Can't disagree with any of that but I'm not sure any of it justifies leaving your top scorer on the bench.

Quigley looked far more dangerous when he cam on as well last night. Nearly scored goal of the season as well with that run past 6 or 7 UCD players

Quigley has been shattered recently. I'd have played him with Fitzpatrick myself

Without doubt it would've been goal of the season too

Eric Lavine was sacked by Galway United but was allowed sign for Athlone outside the window.

Officially, that only applies if the player was a free agent when the transfer window closed.

However as has been pointed out, this is the eL and rules are made up as and when required.

This is why spelling and grammar nazis persist - are you saying that he is currently playing, or that he should be playing or are you asking whether or not he is playing tonight?

Wrong.

It's covered under Rule 35.
http://www.fai.ie/pdf/FAI_Rule_Book.pdf

As an exception to this rule, a Professional whose contract has expired prior to the end of a Registration Period may be registered outside that Registration Period.

That's strange - apparently Rice has actually been good this season.

Rice and Connor never got along, Connor and the board wanted Rice to take a pay cut and join Rovers on loan at the start of the season. Rice apparently asked for a much improved contract and was told no way. Also reports that he was questioning Connor's methods and telling the club he had a number of better contract offers on the table. Still hard to believe they'd just freeze him out like this.

Well Connor did drop JPK on Saturday after they had a disagreement in the warm but he played him last night - must be happy campers again.
