Damien Duff and Gary Donkeyty with the goals. Not a very convincing performance but I suppose considering the team we had out it was good just to come away with the win. At least we're still in contention anyway.

A worrying incident occured when a knife was thrown from crowd in the direction of Kevin Kilbane. UEFA will surely have to take serious action over this, what if it had actually hit one of the players, i assume it would have basically amounted to a stabbing. A bottle or a coin being thrown onto the pitch is one thing but a knife is a different matter entirely.

There was a schnit load of missiles being thrown onto the pitch. There will have to be serious sanctions there. Pity Roy wast there for the knife incident. He would have known what to do (as would most Northsiders!!! :) )

As for the game, I thought it was a professional performance, and 3 points was what was needed, and delivered. Hopefully we will give Albania a drubbing now on Wednesday.

Only caught the second half (after leaving an exam 90 minutes early... ), but the Beeb had highlights during half-time of their match. There was a brilliant bit when Gary Doherty scored and the reviewer said "Listen for the bottle", then the clink of a glass bottle hitting the post, then the reviewer saying "as Doherty ran behind the goal." There has to be something done about the likes of that - I'd say a home ban, but I'm hoping for a draw there on Wednesday against Switzerland...

Albania's result was a bit worrying though - I'd have settled for a draw, but they're going to be on a huge high after hammering Russia. Better hope Robbie's back...

Don't forget, the Albanians hate the Russians with a passion. They probably ran themselves into the ground trying to beat them. Hopefully they'll be tired and have massive hangovers on Wednesday!

We even gave them a load of Cork City jerseys one time! Should be worth a goal or two?! ;)

Anyone else notice the St Georges Cross flag in amoung the irish tricolour flags with 'Leigh' on it?

What was that about?

That was a bit odd alright. Was it my imagination or were some of the Georgian fans waving English flags as well?

Maybe some English fans who can't tell Lichtenstein from Georgia??;)
Maybe some English fans from Leigh who would prefer real footballers and not "fanny merchants" ?:p
Leigh is a Rugby League stronghold so......
