Was driving over to tolka last nigh at around twenty to eight listening to DCAL FM. For those who don't know it, it's a station that primarily provides live traffic updates throughout Dublin. I was pleasantly surprised to hear the presenter talking about the EL and he said he was going to be joined by ex Mons boss Billy Bagster. So I stayed tuned in........
to my horror.........
He sounds like Boycie out of Only Fools and Horses after 4 lines of coke and two bottles of Jack Daniels. I actually thought that it was a p!ss take.
Seriously, you've gotta listen to this guy,,,,,,,,

Aw bless Billy! Apparently he loves to tell people how we have named our Club bar after him by inviting them for drinks in "my bar"!
True gentleman and legend.

I assumed he was talking about the Shelbourne plonker Niall Fitzmaurice, who took over from George Byrne. I used to listen to the Anna Livia show all the time, but it's gone off the boil since Billy hasn't been in the studio. A certain gent who posts on this forum presents it now (I won't reveal his secret identity - he can own up himself if he wants) no offence, but listening to him mainly talking to himself isn't up to much. They need to have more than one person in the studio.

Absolute Legend.
Monaghan sent us down in 1994 in Gortakeegan. Some locals started chanting "going down going down" with about 5 minutes to go and he came out of the box and told them to shut the F^&k up in no uncertain terms.

The guy is a total legend, they should invite him to eL Weekly, he'd liven it up a bit!
At least once a week I see him in Dublin walking with about 5 plastic bags and smoking Gitanes. Classy!
He had a legendary quote about Wesley Charles during his Bray days, "Sometimes he plays like John Charles but more often like Ray Charles"

I remember as a kid going to monaghan matches when i used visit my grandad and he used be more entertainment than the matches. We used stand behind the bench just to watch/listen to him. Didnt they call the bar up there after him or something too?

eh Cosmo, read what I posted! Yes the bar is called the Billy Bagster Lounge & has his infamous "Sandman" picture on the wall.
