The last time St.Michaels were in a big final was the MJC 2006.

Squad :
Kevin O Sullivan, James Walsh (Cashel) - Paul Breen (Dundrum) - Christopher Higgins, Stephen Grace (Bansha) - Derry Peters (Aherlow) - Ray McMahon, Barry Ryan (Limerick) - Padraig Fogarty (Thurles) - Richie Ryan
(Annacarthy) - Aaron Moroney (Clonmel) -Sean O Halloran, Davy Ryan, Denis Cremmins, Lee Dudley, Alan Kiely (Tipperary Town).

Of the starting 11 only 3 players were from Tipp Town.

and u still haven't revealed your club... lets go back to 1966... were they all from England.. i want towns......

Thats avoiding the point, all of those players have local clubs that they can play with and I think a fair few of them have since left the club. I reiterate my point that since players are now playing for their home clubs the league is becoming more competitive.

Obviously with the right people in charge St.Michaels have some very good young players that can become a very good team.

Although Clonmel Celtic, Bansha Celtic and Rock Rovers are all starting to produce young talent so the challenge is there. Do you think St.Michaels can get back to the top

Anyone get any results from yesterday..?nothing on website.. Did Town win in MJC.. saints beat ballingarry, by all accounts was a stroll in the park which was surprising..

The only results I heard were St.Michaels winning ( which I have to agree was a surprise at the extent of the victory - thats usually a tough fixture for anyone) and Bansha Celtic winning.....anyone else got any news ?

I think Clonmel Town got a walkover from Killusty.
Old Bridge beat Burncourt 3-1, Cahir beat Vee Rovers 2-0.

clonmel celtic surprisingly beaten by galbally 2-0. i fancied celtic for a decent run in this comp after hammering borris 5-0 last week

to be fair clonmel celtic had a weak team out missing 5 1st team players added to that they missed a lot of chances and galbally took theirs. celtics problems are far from over every wk their is a different team and half the players dont know what teammates they will have from week to week.

It is really unfortunate to hear that. The TSDL really needs the teams like Clonmel Celtic to get it together and make the league more interesting. It is at least good to see that some of the teams are improving from last year and hopefully with a few upsets the league can do itself justice by becoming competitive this year.

No major upsets in the MJC.... any predictions for winners at this early stage?

Paul Scullys knees will barely survive the rigours of the regular season so I'm fairly certain that he wont be available for the OT side. IMO M.Coady is the best lb/lm in the league at the moment, i'll be surprised if he doesnt play.

clonmel town st michaels carrick or pike rovers........ winners will come from one of these four... and the fact saints n town meet in round 2 will make it interesting...

Town v Michaels should be a belter with the winner playing the Bridge. For a dark horse outsider i'm going to have a tenner on Lisselton from Kerry.

Surely Richard Ryan of Town has ta start in the goal, never mind the squad!!absolute joke if he aint involved..Better keeper then flipper by a country mile..;)..All depends who de manager picks,as you can c from last years team,he cud come up with absolutely anything!!!:ball:

a strong arguement could be made for t. scully i. barnes.

i went for the celtic keeper even though he is a loose canon he is a pretty good keeper.

how far of fitness is adam mcsherry. how come he didnt sign back with town. he is a class act. if celtic cān get him andy cosgrave and paddy wack firing on all cylinders they ll have no problems attacking. just need to sort out there defence

bishbash
24/10/2007, 5:59 PM
and there lies the problem with the football club. paddy wack is playin with the b team in preferance to the 1st team. if adam had signed at the start of the season if the club had held onto paul kennedy and with graham doyle nearly back from injury the team would have been pretty strong. granted the back 4 is a problem really needs a centre half to strenghten them.

Tony Scully would be the first name i'd have down on the TSDL team. Celtic need a center back yeah, but what they need more is a manager.

He gave up his post with the Munster U17's this year I think

michaels and bansha on sunday in the fai. should be a cracking game of football

Definitely should be an interesting tie, alot of local rivalry there.

Bansha have already pushed Michaels hard in the league this year lost out to a late goal when possibly deserved a draw at least. On their home pitch they are hard to beat and alot of young guys in the squad now looking to make the most of the opportunity!

Michaels too will be looking to sort out their poor run's in the competition of late so they will be well up for it and have the players to go far and do very well in the competition.

I be bold and go for a home win by the odd goal, anyone else got a prediction?

your prediction it being won by the odd goal was correct but wrong team though.. I couldn't get to the game myself but any team missing players like paul tobin paul breen, davy ryan and 2 others to go to bansha a win is a great result. By all accounts it was a tough full on derby.. Bansha are at full strength and still in munster, they have the players 2 finish top 3 in league and if they get home draws will do well in minster junior. Saints seem to be doing just enough at the mo.

A tough but great game and the least I expected from these two. I knew it would be the odd goal that would win so I figured try the underdog :D

A good win it has to be said for Michaels and as you said even better given the players absent on the day.

I said earlier in the year that Bansha are building a team with young talent coming through that can do very well, I don't think too many can argue that!

Lets hope Michaels can do themselves the honour of going far its the least that can be expected.

Cloughjordan (NTDL) v St. Michael's

Just have to say that if Michaels are half the team they were they should go and win there handy. No disrespect to the norht teams but there is only 1 [nenagh town] or maybe nenagh celtic that would get a kick against either Michaels or Town any sunday. Its not that hard to stand out in a rubbish league with or within a rubbish team no offence.

bishbash
21/11/2007, 2:16 PM
how would you rate arra rovers?

jug2004
22/11/2007, 8:54 PM
to be totally honest arra rovers would be fairly rubbish too! Like i said none of the north teams would get a kick against Town or Michaels. The only hope they would have is to bring them upto the mud patches up the the NTDL and kick them all over the field now thats not football is it. I'd like to see these teams come to clonmel or tipp town on a big pitch with a nice surface where they would get stretched and probably get destroyed! however victory over a clonmel celtic side who nearly folded at the start of the year and who have lost players since then would not suprise me just have a look at the TSDL tables and it tells its own story cos the teams at the bottom are poor, celtic are not far behind!!!

tipp man
23/11/2007, 6:16 AM
Bear in mind the difficulties that Clonmel Town had in overcoming Nenagh Town in the FAIJC this year. AND that was in Clonmel, (big pitch, nice surface etc). Nenagh Town aren't even as good as their neighbours Nenagh Celtic.

The Clough v Saints game has upset written all over it. Cup football. You gotta love it.

fair play to cloughjordan, they made saints work for their win.. thought though saints could have got 2-3 in second half where clough only had 1 header from a corner. jeez lads whats with the pitch up there. the NTDL need to improve the condition of their pitches to be taken seriously.
