Basically a question to anyone who supports a foreign team, who's the best player you've ever seen play for your team, or any team I suppose, my pick is Chris Waddle for Sheffield Wednesday. He may not have been the most energetic, but he is by far and away the most skillful player I've ever watched in the Wednesday jersey. He also gave me my favourite moment as a Wednesday fan with his goal in the 93 FA Cup semi final against Sheffield United :)

One for the Wednesday fans out there (http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-8511651094362477546)

Kazuyoshi Miura (remember him? Kazy Miura, first Japanese player to go to Italy, and he was woeful there) who is still plying his trade at 37 with Yokohama FC, who are currently bottom of the premier division in Japan.

Not the greatest I know, but I only support Limerick and whoever my local team is wherever I'm living.

Man City: Giorgi Kinkladze, if nothing else, for that goal against Southampton and staying with the club when we were relegated

Celtic: Larsson or Moravcik. Can't pick between them.

Ronaldinho. (http://ie.youtube.com/watch?v=g2SARDPk6iI)
closely followed by Olivier Dacourt.
Then Djalminha.

Chelsea : Easy...........Gianfranco Zola. Absolutely amazing player. The first time I saw him was when he scored a hat-trick in the FA Cup against Liverpool back in '97. And I've been a Chelsea fan since. He was even up to it in 2003 at the tender age of 36. Stamford Bridge legend.

I have been lucky enough see Maradona, Platini and van Basten play in the flesh. Also more recent legends like Zizou, Figo, Baggio, Maldini and others.

Not forgetting homegrown legends like Giles, Brady, Heighway, Whelan, Keane, McGrath and Lawrenson.

The best is obviously Diego Armando.

"Kazu" played a few games as a guest player (don't ask...) with Sydney FC last season. He attracted a couple of thousand japanese to games but he mostly played pretty ordinary. Looked really fit for his age though.

Yes, just because I didn't see him in person doesn't mean it shouldn't count.

Still bitter about Uruguay so you can find a reason to moan about my every post?

Classic :D

UCD is my team and the best ever player would be Ken O'Doherty. He was club top scorer when he played up front, And he was club top scorer one season playing at the back . He scored the winning goal in the FAI Cup Final in 1984, played in Europe the following season. Early in 1985 he moved to Crystal Palace and later Huddersfield , he had a successful enough 7 year career cross channel and won the cup in his final Season with Shelbourne. Consistently determined hard as nails and always reliable.

And fair play to him, when he quit the football and started playing snooker, things really took off.

I was a regular on the Northbank from 89-93 and my favourite Arsenal player was Rocky Rocastle(RIP).Liverpool had a good side around then and at club level Barnes and Beardsley were great players to see live.Much as it pains me to admit it Gazza(at that time) was the most unpredictable and skillful player I ever seen at a game.

Absolute hero!! Strange actually because I was only asked yesterday about my first ever Shels game and it was in 1991 against Rovers in the RDS when I was only four, and Ken O'Doherty scored a last minute equaliser.

Best player to ever play for my club: Wes Hoolahan, Tony Sheridan or Joseph Ndo.

haha yeah! picked them at random in serie c2, got them promoted to serie a! did some net research along the way and have become quite smitten with the club - learning italian by reading one of the fan's blogs :D hoping to make a week during the year where myself and herself can go see the san siro, followed by the Silvio Piola.
