I think Manure Utd have got the best buy so far, Hargreaves will make a huge difference to their team, give Paul Scholes a bit more space (and more of a rest), they needed a good midfielder
Also like Muntari, a handy player who had a great world cup, looking forward to seeing him with Portsmouth
And Wigan seem to have bought at least 3/4 good players that could save them from relegation
waste of money...................Torres for that money
Who do ye guys think are the good buys so far?

Barcelona by a mile , Henry Abidal and Toure not bad at all:)
and whoever gets Pato will be on to a winner ,
the players Wigan have bought have been muck without exception , its like they want to be relegated!
Villareal have made some good signings
its all been fairly quiet though really so far

Muntari's a good player but he's way to aggresive. By Christmas last season, he'd been sent off three times for Udinese, once I remember he'd just come back from suspension. It was just before half-time and he gave away a stupid free and got a yellow card. A few minutes later he lunged in two-footed on some lad and got a straight red. If that side of his game can be eliminated, he'll do well.
Best buy......well as a L'OM supporter I think Gael Givet is a great one. With my Chelsea cap on I think Pizarro and Sidwell will be good.
Others: Well Bayern keep stacking em up. Klose, Toni and Ribery. That will be some side.

Not for the prices they paid for them.
Bayern and Barcelona have made the best signings. United have made the best signings in terms of potential.

They're worth that price though, unlike Spurs' signings.

is nani really worth 18m and bale cost 5m

Bent is definitely not worth 16.5m or whatever they paid for him. 6/7 million would be a risk IMO but he has a British passport so his value at least doubles.

Thought Bale was £10m, Bent is worth £10m at the very, very most.
Nani is class. He will be as good as Ronaldo.

I reckon Robert Earnshaw could be the best bargain if he gets enough service.

Lucas Lavia Brazilian young player of the year........

Owen Hargreaves is the signing of the summer IMO.
Fernando Torres is going to be the flop of the summer. 15-18 million maybe, 26+? your having a laugh.
A good player, but doesn't score the half the goals he should.

Wow! how blinkered are you?
He is the missing link United needed in the midfield, that is why.
And tell me this, why is it blinkered? Because I am a United fan and I think Hargreaves is an expectional signing. How dare I show support towards him and my football club:rolleyes:
I didn't realise the requirement of this thread was not to have an opinion if your a man utd supporter if you thinke a man utd signing could be the best signing:rolleyes:

I give credit where credits due all round when it comes to English football. I could be accused of being blinkered with Linfield, because that's my number 1 passion. Which is likely to be the case with all supporters and their own team. But with Man Utd, although I would obviously see the Man Utd viewpoint more, I'm not as worried if things don't go our way.

Javier Saviola and Roque Santa Cruz are a fine striking partnership available for free.
Possibly Tevez if West Ham go down.

So would I. Smashing player. He's signed for Celtic though according to his wiki page, but no source is provided.

But surely thats good, since the English prem is much more of a physical game than what the Italians get up to in Serie A

They dive more in Italy but the physicality is not that much different. And it's not as if he's been sent off for petty yellow cards. He's a dangerous tackler. He is a good player but he's whole-hearted in his tackles and that won't do him any favours.
EDIT - Muntari even spoke on this issue today. Muntari vows to clean up his act (http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/africa/6263560.stm)

He could easily be one. Great winger. He can use both his left and his right. Really drove Lyon forward at times last year when they struggled. He'll be a great addition. Robben & Malouda on the wings next year....can't wait! :)
Don't know how any can say Nani is a snip at £18,000,000 when he is unproven in England. As we've seen with players like Reyes, Veron, Morientes etc., you can have all the reputation and skill in the world, but if you don't like being kicked around a park for 90 minutes than the Premiership isn't the place for you. Nani could prove to be money well spent, but he could also be the next Reyes. As for Hargreaves :D:D is all I can say.
Barcelona have made the best overall signings so far, but for the best individual signing it would be between, Henry to Barcelona for £16m, Beckham to LA Galaxy for free, Bale to Spurs, or Metzelder to Madrid, and I'd add Saviola to Madrid if the rumours are true.
Also I think Voronin to Liverpool will turn out to be a great piece of business

Riquelme is available at a bargain basement price too, his loan at River is up and Villareal have no interest in taking him back. There are rumours of Atlético de Madrid signing him.
By the way, Real Madrid are just after signing a Brazilian centre half called Pepe from Porto for €30m claiming he's the best thing since the sliced pan. Anyone ever heard of him?

I've heard of him, don't watch Portugese football much though so can't comment on his ability, but at that price he'd want to be a bit special

I've seen Pepe play and I can't say that he's worth €30m. He scores a lot of goals but when he played against Chelsea he didn't do the best job at their heart.
