Real Madrid have sacked coach Fabio Capello, 11 days after he led the Spanish giants to their first league title since 2003.
The 61-year-old still had two years to run on his contract at the Bernabeu but was criticised for his tactics.
Capello also won the Primera Liga title with Real in 1996-97 during his first spell at the club.
Bernd Schuster is the favorite for the job.

Thats shocking really , Do they want a winning team or not ?
since Del Bosque they've had Queiroz , Camacho , Luxemborgo and more and none have done what Capello did and deliver the title.

Can't get away with slagging the president/chairman in any club so no surprise.

Fair enough if they want a Yes man , but they should realise all the good he done for the club.

Clowns.
Capello is probably the worlds best manager.
This is just the stupidity he cured the playing staff from.
Wouldn't be surprised to see something like Cannavaro and Diarra leave now in exchange for Cristiano Ronaldo and some Brazilian 15-year-old who'll put on a great display of solos at his unveiling.

wonder would he like to try his hand at international management?
like e.g. Irish international management?

I'd say the salary he'd ask for would amount to the FAI's turnover for the whole year!!
Chelsea manager?

This is to do with Beckham leaving.
Shocking decision. A massive club, with tin pot directors at the same time. If I where a player or manager it would be the last big club I would go to. Your safer going to Chelsea/Man Utd/Milan/Juventus/Barcelona etc etc etc.

Wenger for Madrid and Capello for Arse.

They decision to sack Capello was taken as soon as they were knocked out of the Champions league but they were afraid to do so at the time because of the cost and fear of general ridicule. Schuster signed a pre-contract with Madrid around Easter.
The Chairman wanted to appoint Schuster at the start of last season but sporting director Mijatovic convinced him that he was too inexperienced and that Capello was a guarantee of success.
Now it could cost them up to 21 million to pay Capello off and they have yet to start planning for next season when the other big clubs have already started snapping up players.
Schuster is a good manager but I'm not sure how he'll handle the dressing room. Capello's greatest achievement was, after a shaky start, to win the players over and create a sense of unity that led them to the title.

By Sunday the papers will be full of speculation linking rafa to the job no doubt. Never going to happen cos Rafa knows he is at the greatest club in the world at the moment.

Something like that
Apparently they already tried but he knows how much of a mess Real Madrid are in at present and wasn't interested.

Wenger for Madrid and Capello for Arse.
Possibly the only guy who could continue what Wenger does.
I reckon the Arsenal board would jump at it giving the circumstances.
It looks like Madrid have all but confirmed Schuster though.
