Not having a go at Ger Finnin or anyone at L37 but as of Friday night Keith had not signed anything and not only that, he had heard nothing at all from L37 at all. So basically our guess was as good as his. Thus the thread that one of the lads started regarding this. I was surprised then to hear the announcement that he was signed a few days later.........bit strange

If this is true and he doesnt sign then the club will have rightly f**ked up by announcing his 'signing'.
Still hopefully they will learn from their mistakes.

So What !!!
I'm getting a little fed up and tired of all this Keith Hartnett business as if he is THE ONE....
I know Keith. I have done for a while. He is a good lad, and a decent player, quite a good junior player, but will be only an average EL player. He is not going to be the be all and end all of our season, and to be honest I don't think its going to make much of a difference either way if he signs or not.

I think what most people are getting at is that the club announced a signing, but at the time of the annoncement he is/was not actually signed. For me anyway its not about who the signing is its about doing things properly. And you dont announce a signing if the player isnt actually signed.

Fair point.
Did it occur to you that Keith might have given a verbal commitment to join the club, which the club took in good faith?
The main mistake the club made in that instance was taking somebodys word.

Ya I did think of that. Like you said if thats what happened, their mistake was taking someones word.
Hopefully they will learn from these mistakes. (Then again he could have signed something already and all this will be pointless :D).

If the club said someone has signed and he hasn't signed it's pretty fcukin amateur in fairness

That has nothing to do with what this thread is about, at all! Storm in a tea cup anyway....

That has nothing to do with what this thread is about, at all!.
I thought it was relevant.......

Keith wants to play for pick rivers in the little boys league then let him off. He is obviously afraid to test himself playing at a way higher level. He must doubt his own ability to make the grade, so we are better off without him!
