I see that that wonderly efficient show which is such a credit to TV3 has docked us a point. We were showing 18 points on last night in 8th place I think behind Derry & UCD on goal difference.

Did you see the first division table after? One team had played 4 games, had 9 points and was still half way up the table.

They must use the same mathematician that UCD use to count their attendances.

Not having a go here but Sligo can hardly say much when it comes to attendances considering ye don't release official figures.

Ye guesstimate all yere crowds.Consequently figures are often overstated and possibly understated.

I always find it shady and slightly dubious with Clubs that don't release official figures.Drogheda being a prime example.

Of course, there has been some skepticism about certain official figures as well Conor. :)

And while I know the Limerick lads aren't GU's biggest fans, I was at that game and was also very surprised when the official figure was given.

They also had Athlone playing Monaghan in Oriel Park tonight. UCD manager's name is Pete Mahon, his name came up as McMahon.

do u just wait in the wings to hop into this forum with your opinions. All clubs shud me made to release official figures but all their required to do is send the figure to the FAI. I then wonder why the FAI dont release the figures themselves. It might not be right, but our attendances are guesstimated but no better or worse than any club. I find it shady and slightly dubious that you keep coming into here with your 'i know best' attitude. keep to your own forum mate!!

Not entirely true. The FAI have an assesor at every game (alledgedly) to gauge the attendence themselves so they can tell if the figure is around their guess.

No VAT on gate receipts, but cash not declared as gate receipts can be used to pay players under the table with no PAYE, so there are potential tax savings from underdeclaring attendances.

Pineapple, are you suggesting that Sligo Rovers Football Club would be engaged in tax evasion ????????? Next thing you'll be suggesting we sign those three trialists from the Mayo league, Beverley, Cooper, Flynn.

Limerick37 announce the official attendence at half-time at each game!! I no it is right because I help them count the ticket stubs in the first half!!

In his defence, it was a general comment, and I'm sure I've heard him mention the idea before - not in relation to Sligo specifically.

I'm no mate of yours.
I'd hate to have such an attitude of attacking all outsiders to the forum.Quite sad.My point was directed at all Clubs who don't release official figures-not just Sligo.

In the past at half time there was always an attendance announcement at half time.

To be honest it is not all outsiders are attacked but you have to understand you are really anoying and you are a person who i would consider a paranoid wreck !

Coming from the guy who spends his days trolling on our forum?

Actually fingers you have to understand.I don't give a flying sh!te what you or any of the Sligo lads think of me.I know a few Sligo fans-all of whom i have time and respect for and intend on meeting for one or two,or ten:p, drinks when we go up in July.

If you don't like me-tough.I don't troll here, nor have i done in a long long time.
A paranoid wreck?:D
