Right lads, we're having our own logo designed for the SC as we need one. We're going to do a variation of the club crest, we already have some ideas but are looking for suggestions as well. No far-whatever-wing logo's, hooligan logo's or insinuations please, such as the youngfellas who are using the Chelsea Headhunters Logo as their L37Ultras logo. Maybe they are unaware that the 'skull & crossbones' is a Chelsea Hooligan logo, but either way we don't want any of that.

thelimerick on here designed the original club logo and has also kindly agreed to design the SC variation.

Some of the suggestions we have already had are:

To use a Lion in the logo, as this is our club mascot. Maybe a more aggressive Lion than Leo, such as something like the old Dutch Lion or Gatecrasher Lion (http://www.flickr.com/photos/coda/61717317/). And to retain the 4 point Crown over the lions head.
The Treaty Stone.
Incorporate a blue/white bar scarf around the logo.
Incorporate the year the first SC was set up eg 'Established 2001'.

All good suggestions, anyone else that has any others please contribute.

Club Name

We will also be taking suggestions on a club name. 'The Crazy 37's' was one put forward a while back and was the most popular. 'L37 Ultras' has also been suggested. Again any other suggestions welcome.

Cheers :ball:

Soemthing less shimmering then the club crest and with basic colours (for merchandising reasons)

His name is Mr Enrich and im not sure our Irriducibili brothers would be too keen in us taking their creation, i am however not totally against the idea!
The lion idea is good, gatecrasher lion is class btw, worth your while having a look at the old Millwall badge and various AC Milan ultras crests also.

As regards the SC Club name (do we need one?) L37 ultras shouldnt be used as this is a group within the S.C. and id say there are uninformed people who would want nothing to do with the S.C. if we were called that.

I'd agree with that. I'd be for calling us the Limerick 37 Independent Supporters Club or something along those lines. We can still have an alternative name like The Crazy 37's, is it Athlone Town's SC that call themselves 'Mad As Cootes' or something?

More a problem with bad/poor kit/merchandise suppliers than the Design of the logo I'd say ;)

Its not bad you know, (you stopped 'borrowing' the Waterford stuff!!) thing is skull and crossbones is overused and the only one that looked good is the good old deaths-head, check out this charming page for more info.

I've been tipping away at a lion design for the moment, until I hear any different that is! I can't post images up on this thing, I'm a fairly stupid person by all regards but i'll throw something on a disk and have it for you soon. Any ideas at all throw them at me and i'll do my best.

Just wanted to say well done to everyone involved in putting together the fanzine. The round-up of match reports was a good idea, they're very well written and will be nice to look back on sometime. Good work :ball:

Not sure to be honest but the Supporters Club were looking for a name to call themselves other than limerick 37 supporters club!!

Personally, for a logo I think the Treaty Stone with a Blue & White Scarf encircling it.

But some details of the design might be determined by the SC's attitude to and relationship with the club itself. (What I mean is, if we're the "official supporters' club", then we don't really need a fancy name. But if we're an independent supporters' club, then it would be good to have a name that differentiates us from the club itself.) The name should go below the knot in the scarf, at the bottom of the logo (or maybe in an arc around the lower part of it).

BTW, I believe 'Crazy 37s' is, at the moment, the name of the fanzine only!

Dont think the SC should be associated with that symbol of surrender!

I think you're being a bit rigid in your interpretation of the history of the Treaty Stone, rather than it simply as a symbol representing Limerick (which would be almost universally recognisable (at least in Ireland, if not quite the universe as a whole :p )).
If you want to stick strictly to football, you could just have a ball in the centre instead!

We are the 'Limerick 37 Independent Supporters Club', it's written on the ID cards and the club account is also in that name. We have no direct connection with the club, just a working relationship

As for the treaty stone, well that's the GAA logo and also the logo of a few other clubs around that area

And fall it did, and over the dead bodies of Limerick patriots they signed a treaty/surrender which was soon to be broken!

It shames me that its on my side of the river;)
Anyway im still pressing for the image of an Israeli/Serbian/US soldier standing above a burning village to be used for our crest.
