think he could be useful for us this season as we more or less have nobody for the left midfield position.... wouldnt be top of my list of wanted departures...i still firmly believe we need another central midfielder in place of mcfaul.

I agree that we should keep Bogdan. From what I've seen of him I think he is better than Doyle.
What do you not like about McFaul? He's a good passer of the ball, composed, can tackle. We have loads of centre mids- him, Crowley, McDonnell, King, Finn, Bolger- we don't need anymore.

Ive seen all of UCds home games this season plus a few of the away ones and if im honest Shane McFaul has impressed me
He probably isnt the most skillful of player but he works hard and keeps things simple. He has been important to the team and does that role of sitting in midfield very well, he cleans a lot up and can put his foot in
What have you guys got against him?

true,i think our first choice central midfield paring should be paul crowley and ronan finn. paul can sit there in front of the back 4 and break up opponents play, and when we have the ball ronan can go play... i think mcfaul is a liability in the team,he seems to be very lazy at the best of times and is afraid to stick his foot in. i dont know what he was used to when he was in the states but you cant ponse around in this league,it almost feels as if were playing with ten 10 when he's out there

mcglinchey's views are in the extreme minority. Everybody I've spoken to has been pleased with his performances.

Don't know how he seems lazy. You haven't exactly made any decent points as to why he should be sold.
On your other point Finn is a poor centre-mid. He was great last season when he was playing just off the lone striker but when he has featured this season (and last season when centre mid) he has been very quiet. He isn't able to dictate the tempo of a game the way Gary Dicker, and to a lesser extent McFaul, can. Obviously he has less freedom when playing centre mid as to playing in the hole and this is having an effect on his performances too.

i think lethargic would be a better word to describe him.i dont think he does much for the team, there doesnt seem to be much to his game apart from the odd pass. his slack play led to corks winner against us remember.and in the games against pats and bray he was more or less non existant.dont get me wrong now,id like nothing more than to be proven wrong by him,but so far i have seen nothing to impress me

I think McFaul suffered early in the season by being paired with Finn in centre midfield. Neither of them is the sort of player that will break up play so without a player like Tony or Crowley, they were exposed defensively. Either with Tony or Crowley would be much better, as we're seeing recently.
Any word on when Finn will be back?
Is Bogdan still about?
How about McWalter - any word on his injury?

Not sure about Finn, Bogdan is supposedly still around, but not playing because he's not good enough and McWalter is supposed to be back soon - he's been jogging for months, and June kept being mentioned as the target to get him back by.

Around the end of the month/start of July.Yeah, his dad told me he'd be out for 5 weeks at the Derry game (about 2 1/2 weeks ago).

McFaul's done well so far, particularly of late - he's been imposing himself more on games the last few weeks.

Most of them are injured [ i.e.Tony Mc , Finn and King] DUH!
Pat McWalter is hoping to be back next month (July) but that was a few weeks ago when I asked him about it.

No way. My point was we shouldn't buy anymore midfielders because we have plenty. I suppose you think we should do a Doolo and buy a replacement everytime somebody gets injured.

When three out of five centre midfielders are injured it's no harm to get 1 more as backup!

No. We have a budget and it would be stupid to go over it just to have a player for a couple of weeks. Our squad has been big enough to cope with the amount of injuries we've had.

I completely agree. We've been realy unlucky with the amount of central midfielders that happen to have been injured but we've just got to ride it out. Paul Crowley's suspension will be over by next week. Greg Bolger put in a good display against Salthill. His every forward pass seemed to be an incisive through ball.

Hardly any of them would be able for the eircom League fitness wise as they have been playing amateur football. Anyway why sign somebody when we have plenty of cover? We have McDonnell, McFaul, Crowley, Bolger and McNally can also play centre mid. We don't need cover. Can you ever admit you're wrong?

You're the one who can never admit when you're illogical. I hold my hand up when I am in the wrong.. on this occasion I am not.
I suppose you would not have signed Patrick Kavanagh last season using your logic :(

No that's different to what we are talking about hear. As usual you change the discussion when you are wrong. You said we need a centre mid when we had 4 fit and 1 back in 2 weeks.
Also give an example of when I've been illogical or when you've admitted you're wrong.
