Some trouble in Tarragona, surprised to hear there are Nastic fans who are RM sympathisers.

As it stands with a few minutes left UEFA spots for Vila-Real and Zaragoza (and Getafe via the cup), Atletico miss out.

Would love to see Madrid **** up on title winning day
Would love to see the St. George Cross crest-wearing, pig head firing, handball-cheating, Catalunyan separatists hand the title back.
They did. La Liga is finally back home at the White House. :D:D:D

Can you imagine if Beckham had done what Reyes did yesterday?????!!!! The press would have creamed themselves. Beckham is treated as if he devised the art of crossing a football by himself.

Fantastic finish and I thoguht Real were going to regret last week's lap of honour. Sky still managed to mention Beckham every minute even after he was substituted. Well done to Real.

Lucky you don't depend on Sky News for the report. They must've dedicated about half of Sportsline to him leaving Real. The other half went to Lewis Hamilton and cricket.

How dare a country show interest in one of their most prominent sportsmen , who do these guys think they are?

He went off when it was one nil to Mallorca and as soon as he went off Real equalised and went onto win. Doesn't show his performance in the best light now, does it?
I don't watch La Liga so I don't know how Beckham played this year so I'm not going to say he doesn't deserve it but I wouldn't put it past the English media, especially the likes of Sky, to overdo something like this.

Lets be honest here, if it was an Irish Man playing for Real and Setanta Sports where covering the game, Setanta sports would probably have a split screen. One side showing the game, the other side as a player cam.(I'm exaggerating to get my point across)
It is only natural a country backs there own players when playing in foreign lands. I really don't see the big deal. Certainly didn't annoy my viewing of the game in any way.
Beckham wasn't fit yesterday, you could see that. He has been in good form recently and if Van Nistlerooy played for longer, you would have seen more of Beckham and they have great link up play.

It's that kind of bias that disgusts me. It's not just Sky.
It happens in every country and I for one hate it.
My point was when their showing highlights of the Spanish league they harp on about an English player who's leaving. They didn't go on about Roberto Carlos as much.

did you really expect anything else from sky after all golden balls beckham more or less won la liga on his own ... don't forget this is the same beckham 6-9 months ago the same sky sport & most papers had put him down as finished .. how quickly they change their minds :ball::ball:

FFS lads if it was an Irish channel and it was Roy Keane does anyone think it'd be different here? (Or if it was Keane do you think it'd be different on Sky?)
Of course Sky were unbelievable biased towards Beckham and Madrid BUT in fairness to the commentator last night (and begrudgingly Armstrong) they gave 100% credit to the substitution of Beckham with Reyes. I've no doubt that if Madrid hadn't have won, they'd have pointed to that as en error but as it was they were completely fair last night.

That tells absolutely zero about Beckham's performance.

Don't knock Betis. I still have my Betis jersey (green and white stripes) that a fan gave me when I was supporting Ireland in Seville a few years back (the 0-0 with the "offside" goal by Aldo which wasn't) so they are my Spanish team of sorts.

having watched the game it says a fair bit. he wasn't the worst player out there but he did absolutely nothing when he was on the pitch. The introduction of Reyes gave the team a fair bit of impetus

Well I have no problem with Betis fans , great city great people, but a chairman who is very dodgy, and well you look at the sequence of scores on Sunday you can only wonder, up to this Santander were flying, then they loose at home to Betis , who lost the previous week to 0-5 at home ?????????
Anyway I support Cetla because of their Celtic orgins

Sky Sports are reporting that Barca are after Arsene Whinger ;). You get sacked in Spain if you're the manager of either Barca and Real if you don't win the league

Barcelona are fairly good with managers. Van Gaal didn't win the league but wa there a while.
Wenger's a top top manager and I'm sure he could make his own demands before agreeing to anything

Sevilla played the best football in spain this year, but the league run in coupled with uefa cup run saw fatigue get the better of them, one to keep in mind next year

I have to say I was a bit sceptical about this (it was 0-0 with 12 mins to go) but reading this contribution to Gaurdian Unlimited's La lIga blog makes me think again.

Madrid/esp Attention Celta supporters.
Se venden piscinas End of the season sales.
I thought of retiring from this asco of a season but......
on Sunday i sat in the south stand in the Sardinero and i saw what has been (for me) the biggest deception in my short football watching history. By the way went to see jamon viejo (Oldham) against no hay
jamon en el bosque (Nottingham Forest) at Duff Wembley back in 91. If there has ever been a football match bought it was on Sunday in Santander. Talk about lacklustre performance. Take note. Here you have it Celta. Racing were bought and the proof in the pudding was the @rse
set up by the Racing players. Sell outs. The chant going round the ground (by the way probably the worst football stadium atmosphere in the world in Santander ie not one decent song) should have been "there´s only one Paco Chapparos". The now famous 1 game manager. Luis
Fernandez gets the boot (0 - 5 ) and they replace him wth an ex Racingista ie from Torrelavega just down the road. Where has this man been eating in the last week? Who has he met? The middle man. Get a local lad to NEGOTIATE. How much did it cost Betis yesterday? I hope all the money they´ve got because if you are going to sell your @rse be it big time. Talk about Sudar la cameseta. Racing players wake up (still in bed)you are on holidays. No commitment, no movement no go full stop. They were pathetic. Sell outs from start to finish. Everyone talks about cases full of money and nobody can prove it, or can they? Yes i can you just had to watch the legs and facial expressions of the depressingly poor Racing players (a joke). A sad bunch of bought incapable meat heads. Two dribbles on goal throughout the 90 mins. Apart from the 3mins stop to say bye bye to Pablo Alfaro when losing 0-1. Everyone cheering and you are losing.
Of course it was impossible to find a Racingista in SANTANDER TO ARGUE WITH, all hiding away in their own vomit. This is a team that was in sight of UEFA ( 2 months ago then they beat Madrid and everyone knows the score from then on) and now they go on holidays and Betis pays. Bring in big sticks line em up and give them a good thrashing. MERCENARIOS.
Miguel Angel Portugal (Racings manager)now says "I´m off, but i´m staying till Friday (next) when my kids finish the school year" Say no more he´s had enough. Now you know why Banco Santander go for F1 and not their home town football team. Racing me suda la polla VENDIDOS.
Reality time. Page 5 of the Delerio Montanes "un peaton que resultado atropellado dio positivo en la prueba de alcoholemia" Sums it up.
By the way

Setanta Sports had no interest whatsoever in Levante and wasn't Hartey playing there this season? :D
