With all this talk of high-def and high-ray, im a bit confused about the whole thing.

Can any of you guys help me out. If i buy a 360 or ps3 can i play it on a regular tv at all.

Im ready to get one or the other but i cant spring for a hdtv just yet.

Would happilly hook it up to my pc monitor as it is quite large as they go.

In short yea they both hook up to normal tvs , the xbox comes with the HD cable ( a green, red, blue, yellow and white ) that plug in the same way your standard yellow red and white ones do at the moment ( you get your yellow red and white one free with it ).

For the ps3 you need to buy a HDMI cable its called they cost anything from a tenner upto 50 or 60 quid .

Both machines look top on a normal tv compared to a ps2 etc but they really come into there own on a HDTV .

The difference in the 2 machines is while both give you HD gaming the Xbox cant play HD-DVD's with out buying an add on DVD drive that costs 200 euro in the shops but can be got online for about 160. The PS3 has a built in blue ray player .

while there is no clear winner on the blue ray V HD-DVD format war yet the PS3 having blue ray and xtravision now stock blue ray but not HD-DVD , and the number of shops stocking blueray over HD tells me blue ray will prob win out .

i think the blueray uses a thinner laser thus giving you way more space ( 25gb ) on a disk where as DVD carrys 8 or 9 . So that means the PS3 games have the potential to have twice as much info .

Ive heard pro evo 7 is all ready at 19gb and thats with out comentry or names so it looks like the ps3 version will be class and the xbox will have to be watered down .

Id recommend getting a playstation get the 630 version if you can afford it ,its 60gbnot 20 and wireless if you plan on using a wireless network ,its a lot quiter doesnt crash all the time and does nt get the dreaded rings of death . Xbox are realeasing a new model the "elite" to catch up to sony .

On a HDTV's they are well worth it the difference is amazing , none of the pixeling or blurring your get on a plasma screen watching normal tv , any one that has watched a match on a plasma will tell you its crap . but with the HD its clear as crystal , I got casino royal on blue ray free with the playstation its class .
