It would be nice if they could do an all-island league in Fifa. just so I can play Derry City, Shelbourne, Bohemians, Cork, Drogs etc with Linfield :)
Fingers crossed this will actually happen this time- great for the league if it does

I've got it great game. Although I dominated Irish League football too easily.
I was manager of Linfield for 7 years.
Won the league 7 times, the Irish Cup 4 times, the CIS cup 6 times & Co. Antrim Shield 3 times.(obviously the names of the CIS cup and Co.Antrim Shield are different in the game).
I won the Setanta cup 5 times. 4 in a row.
I qualified to the 2nd round of the Qualifiers the first 3 seasons, Then Qualified to the 3rd round. The next season I got knocked out in the 1st round then the last season I qualified to the Champions League proper, Knocking out Bayer Leverkuson in the 3rd round. Lost 2-1 away and won 1 nil at home, Leverkuson got 2 players sent off in the first 15 minutes.
I picked up 4 points in the group stages on my way out.
I left Linfield with 9million in the bank and a good young team.
I now manage Nottingham Forest in the Championship. Half way through the league I'm sitting 7th 12 points behind 2nd placed Birmingham.
Anyways. It would be good if we had an all island league in Fifa.:)

Anyone remember the commodore 64 football game (european football [??]) which had dundalk fc and possibly shamrock rovers and dublin [!] (wearing red jerseys)??
Perhaps EA might limit their selection to Irish clubs with a decent domestic and european record.

Yes and i'm doing my own Option File for the EL for Pro Evo, FIFA is ****e, graphics in Pro are better and kits are more realistic. All i have to do now is player appearances and i'll have it done

Would love if Fifa or better still, Pro evo had el teams with kits and squads. don't think it would happen though.
How about, us lot all email EA sports or konami and lobby them to include them (if they haven't for this season, it's too late now) for next season. If they got a reasonable amount of mail they might consider it seriously...?

I remember getting a pro-evo [i think] game out of Xtravision about 10 years ago and it had Cliftonville fans all wegging Ulster* flags. It raised a chuckle in our house although admittedly we didn't get out that much.
*colloquialism for current flag used to represent Norn Iron football teams at international level.

It's definitely going to be included in FIFA 08, presuming they are able to get all the necessary information.

Yeah I've made Dundalk on it myself. It's never the same though as the team being in the game properly.

EA Sports were looking for player information from the clubs. Don't know if First Division clubs were contacted though.

Great stuff. Might be just for the other european clubs section though to play in the UEFA competitions.

Is this how the rest of ye found out aswell?
Content be ripped out of it and put into a pes patch so its all good if true. All EA news burts on it only have who is on the box and nothing about the game itself.

Not to be rude but, what authority?
EA sports have not made any announcements regarding the new leagues they are adding. they have only confirmed the leagues that have been in previous versions. they did mention there will be more leagues but no info on which. I would be very sceptical of Eircom league being in FIFA 08
Sorry guys just saw post above this!

i hate fifa havent played it once since 2002, pure pro evo man but if they do bring out Irish clubs i will definitly buy it, even if rams aren't in it, if we dont support it they wont do Irish clubs again, or expand it to First division clubs, doesn't matter anyway Rams will be in Fifa 09 either way!!

Does anyone here know whether Wexford Youths and Limerick 37 will be Football Manager 2008 seeing as they are new clubs.
Being a d yoi am worried that they will not include our players as they are ametuers and they will have a greyed ouy squad.
Anyone got any info on this?
Cheers!

I see no reason why they wouldn't be included.

It's actually happening!!! Media notice from the FAI!!!
Might actually pop down there on Monday?
FAI EIRCOM LEAGUE OF IRELAND TO FEATURE IN FIFA 08,
EUROPE’S BIGGEST SELLING FOOTBALL GAME
The Football Association of Ireland and Electronic Arts (EA) will join forces to make a very exciting announcement in relation to the FAI eircom League of Ireland at a photocall in Meeting House Square, Temple Bar, Dublin 2 on Monday 11th June at 2.00pm.
News that the FAI eircom League of Ireland will feature for the first time in FIFA 08, Europe’s biggest selling football videogame, will be confirmed at the photocall.
FAI eircom League of Ireland players will be present at the photocall, including Liam Kearney, (Cork City), Kevin Hunt (Bohemians), Pat McCourt (Derry City), Shane Robinson (Drogheda United), Alan Murphy (Galway United), Aidan Price (Shamrock Rovers) and Joseph Ndo (St. Patrick’s Athletic).

I reall think this is all because of the FAI controllin the league now. And if its gonna be the full Premier League, then why wouldn't it have the kits as every other league in the game have their kits.

Where did that come from Solar?
Not up on the FAI site at all.

Interesting...
So UCD, Sligo, Bray, Waterford and Longford weren't invited then. First steps towards a breakaway 7-team Premier Division? :)
EDIT: Ah I see it says "including". :o
Still, the media is clearly on board with the idea that nobody cares about those five teams.
