Who are the most overrated/crap/ poor players in the league. I'll get the ball rolling with Softic and Glen Fitzpatrick

Poor players: Whole Sligo Rovers squad, bar Chris Turner, Seamus Coleman, Adam Hughes and Gavin Peers.

Is Cretaro having a bad season as well?

the stockings/suspenders gag is wearing a bit thin.

Yes, I agree, this is stretching it a bit thin now - but don't you mean (under) wearing it a bit thin:p

I dunno about that.
Some of us have yet to even get it in the first place.:ball:
I presume you've Softic down as the crap player. There's worse out there . . . . . . . . a few.
Although crap is the same as poor.
I don't know who you've been listening to, but i don't know of anyone who rates Softic highly.

Over-rated - I don't know. Zayed hasn't lived up to it since going to Drogs.
Crap/poor. - I suppose Michael Comerford, Ian Nagle, Austin McCann?
Would make sense i suppose.

Dan Murray is a liability for Cork.I dont know how he starts never mind being captain.

You're wrong. He was player of the year last year and has been one of our best performers this year. i'll wager you're mixing him up with his current centre back partner, brian o'callaghan

average really, i never expected him to be one of our better players cos it's big step but he's played up top, left back, right back and right midfield so far so i'll reserve judgement till he gets a few games in the one position. had his worst game last night(tony grant got a lotta of joy down that side) and could easily have been sent off

can't understand why glen fitzpatrick is still at drogs, muck in my opinion. i've always felt o'grady was over-rated but it was tough for him under connor's tactics last year but his workrate is always good and i thought he looked much improved last night. steve manson however is just awful

Brian Murphy. I now he has had a decent start to the season but come on he aint the best keeper in the league like certain people have said. He plays in a defensive side so has little to do, but still droped the ball against Pats on Monday.

Darren Quigley off UCD. I know he is not playing now but how overrated last season was he.

Yes a goalkeeper who has let in 5 goals in the first 13 league games is overrated.Good lad!

Go have a lie down for yourself will ya!

In a boring team that sits back at home. Not like average teams are gonna break down a team which that just stays tight. More recognistion for your Midifielders and defenders all focused on defence no interest in breaking down teams.

When you start playing football then we can rate a Goalie with something to do.

What a load of ****e!So because we are not a gung ho all out attacking team Brian Murphy's clean sheets mean less than anyone elses?!Stupid statement!

Have you watched Murphy 13 times this season or are you judging his whole season on one drop against Pats which nothing came of?Im not saying he is the best in the league or anything like that but he is solid. He comes and catches crosses well, he marshalls his back 4 excellently and he is a good shot stopper. All the necessary requirements to be highly rated. To call him overrated is a joke plain and simple.

If he is a poor keeper then I wish we had 10 other players as bad in their respective positions because we would be running away with this league if that was the case!

Conor Sammon.

Decent player, but it amazes me how, after every game, opposition fans are raving about him. Can't head the ball and his shooting is often weak. Good at holding the ball up and making a nuisance of himself, although even then his first touch can be loose.

Was going to start a thread on him actually. Away fans feel free to discuss!

Mansaram. Yes, he's big, quick, awkward to deal with and so on but he's never struck me as being a great striker. Centre-forward's primary job is to score goals, not unsettle defenders. Mansaram's very good at the latter, not much good at the former.

Sammon's in much the same bracket except he's a better idea of where the goal is.

Dennis Behan - his goal against Derry notwithstanding - is another one who strikes me as fairly crap. Not sure if anyoine actually rates him as such so he'd skip out on a technicality from being "over-rated".

Finally, just in the interests of balance, if Mark Rooney was serious about wanting to be involved in LoI football, he should've settled for being a ballboy.

i have to say i was very impressed by brian murphy when we played against satan's crowd. has a great presence in the box and is very confident, not afraid to come out for crosses. haven't seen him pull off any big saves really but bohs will concede less soft goals with him there.

Lazy but i like it.
How the feck is your post meant to be interpreted so?:)

no.
I'd definitely take the road of "I've seen him week in, week out so i should know" here.
Used to dread him 3 years ago but he has been improving consistently and notably, probably every month. He knows his qualitys exactly and marshals the defence and defensive midfield from his spot.
There's a place for grabs in central defence, but its for a pacy central defender who's willing to work and do exactly what Murray tells him to do (Sean Kelly).

He has turned out a great choice as captain.

being bottom of Division 1.
Unsure if they're Mons and Kilkennys worst players, never even seen them but its better criteria than someone not looking up to it in Drogs or Citys line-up.
Sorry Ian.
