I'm getting sick of the ever-increasing attempts to threaten, cajole, bribe and blackmail me into deleting posts and threads on Foot.ie. This is a catch-all thread that I'll point to in future.

What To Do
Ask. Via email (http://foot.ie/sendmessage.php?do=mailmember&u=1), in a PM (http://foot.ie/private.php?do=newpm&u=1), or in the Support (http://foot.ie/forumdisplay.php?f=63) forum.
Do it politely.
Be patient. Foot.ie is generally a spare time project, people have jobs to do, kids to mind, days off. If it's urgent, post in the Support forum where another moderator will see you. If it's private, ask for someone else to talk to.
Give us context. Click on the #number on the right-hand side of the actual post that's causing offense and copy and paste the address of that post into your email, post or PM.
Explain the problem, in as much detail as possible. What Not To Do
Spam us. Send it once, not three times.
Shout, spit, swear, rant. It doesn't work. It annoys us.
Assume we'll just know what you're talking about. We get about 500 posts a day on Foot.ie, no-one reads them all.
Ask for a deletion with no explanation or context. How would you like it if we deleted your posts every time someone just asked us to?
Threaten legal action. This is not a good way to start a discussion. It's bullying, plain and simple.
Assume you're not more intelligent than us. When you say you may be "forced to take legal action", we know you're just too cheap to pay a lawyer.
We also know that solicitor's letters aren't worth a damn. If you're going to spend money on a lawyer, make it count.adam
