Not a brilliant line-up imho, but then I'm an old fuddy duddy that hasn't heard of half of them. But sure that's not what it's about anyway.

Glastonbury my arse. 2 or 3 day fests. are for wimps.

Go to Sziget http://www.sziget.hu/festival_english. 7 days of music & fun for €150(inc. Camping). Playing this year
Chemical Brothers, Faithless, The Hives, The Killers, Chris Cornell, The good the bad & the queen,Nine Inch Nails, Skatalites, Sinead O'Conor, Pink, Tool, Napalm Death, Gogol Bordello.
Plus much more music from just about every corners of the globe.
Cheap drink and food, average tempture of 25°c-30°c, cool people, chilled out atmosphere.
Plenty of other activities , swiming pool, sports area, bungee jumping & karting.

Was there last year and had the best time since sliced bread. Hope to go this year just trying to get it off work.

The Other Stage looks to be better than the Pyramid.

Let me guess, Socialism DJs playing on the Friday in the Stonebridge Bar piqued that interest! I'd have to agree the line-up does look brilliant, with or without Socialism DJs!

Looking down throught the list I noticed Sandi Thom. Was wondering what had happened to her since she put me off listening to the radio with her tripe.

Bugz In The Attic are the only ones that really stick out there. I remember seeing them supporting at the Basement Jaxx gig in November. They were pretty good.

Anyone watching this on the BBC? Great coverage lastnight. Five different acts to choose from all evening, and no wellies required.

Terry Hall and Lynval Golding doing Gangsters with Lilly Allen was pretty good. Seemingly the first time on stage together for Golding and Hall since break up of Fun Boy Three.

Saw bits of it on telly. A parade of mediocrity..I'd have been happier if there was someone awful that I coul have got annoyed about, but it was all just ok, nothing more nothing less.

Crowd these days bug me as well..

Here's The Killers..."Oh my god, the Killers are so amazing"

Here's Shirley Bassey..."Oh my god, Shirley Bassey is so amazing"

Here's 4 blokes we picked off the street and gave instruments to.."Oh my god, 4 blokes we picked off the street and gave instruments to are so amazing"

Is it verboten to say someone is crap, or even reasonably good, or alright?

I know where you're coming from. I listed my tv highlights, but there was a lot of trudgery too. The five screen choice on BBC loses it's impact when all five bands sound the same.
I guess I'm out of touch, and in fact I used this as an opportunity to catch up on a lot of the bands, but the likes of dirty pretty things, babyshambles, maximo park, killers, bloc party to name a few, just don't do anything for me.

The only criticism of the BBC coverage was, with all the choice they stuck to these 'type' bands most of the time, when there must have been some other interesting music going on.

Sorry, but Shirley Bassey really was quite good. The Killers would have been brilliant, but the wind was blowing the wrong way and I couldn't hear them properly. It's true about the 4 blokes they picked off the street and gave instruments to though.

The rain was relentless, the mud worse as the weekend went on and your legs got more and more tired. I went through two tents, both of which dribbled at me slowly like demented pensioners. I fell over getting into one, and fell over getting back out again.

It's rained every year I've gone, but this year was just too much. No Glasto for me next year, so I can test my sister's theory that I'm a jinx. If it's sunny next year, I'm taking a camper the year after. ;)

I watched shirley Bassey on TV thought it was class i like that kinda thing at festivals . Killers though would have been crap because they are crap its nothing to do with the wind .

Nothing worse than having to stand in the rain all day no break from it no chance to rest for a few mins , i get so ratty GGRRRRRR:mad:
