LOFL!

Go away will ya! I heard that & knew it would be taken out of context.

He said he sometimes thinks he would like to know but also said it wasn't for him to ask.

How did Gleeson get picked?

He did in his ring, say it wasn't for him to ask! He said quite clearly he was disappointed not to be picked and he'd like to know why!

Eoin Hand was spot on in his criticism of him. O'Donovan's piece in the mirror is nearly as bad with his weekly "I have to be fit for my big move to England bit"

Guy obviously has an attitude problem

Oh and Gleeson shouldn't have been picked but he's a totally different position to O'Donoghue so thats hardly relevent is it?

WTF!?

I heard an interview with an LOI player looking for a reason why he's not in the national squad and you don't think thats news?

Anyone NOT from Cork think he has a right to an explanantion?

No, he has absolutely no right to an explanation. The manager of our national side does not need to explain his decision's to any footballer, let alone an uncapped footballer.

His decisions, rightly or wrongly, are his right and he needs to only explain himself to those who employ him.

How about you read what he said rather than rising to Dodge's bait?

It would have been unimaginable in the Charlton or McCarthy years to have a LOI player say something like this, of course there wasn't wall-to-wall media back then, I'm not sure if this is due more to a drop in the standards of the senior team or a rise in the standard of the LOI.

Both. I think LOI have improved more than the National Team players (not Manager) has fallen.

27 goals in 28 games deserves a call up. Particularly as its a sub "B" squad at the moment

It can be argued that Roy wasn't the most tactful but considering Staunton just called up a US College player i think I might being feeling aggrieved at not getting the call now...

He hasn't been called up, just training.

Joe Gamble, who helped Cork City defeat Bohemians on Friday, and Joey Lapira, a forward with Notre Dame University, trained with the squad.

Seems Roy has ruffled Stauntons feathers. He has a go back in a few of todays papers

How about you respect my entitlement to answer the question regardless of whether is bait or not.

The key point here, and it is an important one, is that of whether a player is entitled to an explanation from his international manager regarding his exclusion from the national squad.

Only saw it on tv last night but goal against Bohs on friday was one of his best. Contender for goal of the season for sure.

Dont you think at this stage he's having to many "pops" sick of seein headlines on the echo bout him moaning, i'd love to see a city player make it with Ireland but delighted Gamble got there ahead of O'Donovan, every time i seen Gamble play I thought he carried City and hes a pleasure to watch, O'Donovans turnin into a sulk, his outburst after Sligo was ridiculous! :ball:
