Tony Folan is back training with GUFC. He will sign from alway Hibernians during the forthcoming Transfer Window in July. He has already turned down a chance to sign for Limerick 37.

Don't think he's good enough for the Premier. Looked like he could be a good player when he was with us but was so unfit it was unbelievable.

BOHS how fit would you be on 12 to 15 pints a night , I think he did very well just to put his kit on .

I can't help wondering if this is the type of player that's really going to improve a premier division side? I do remember a lot of people around GUFC having very little respect for this gentleman's efforts during his previous spell with the club. Maybe I'll be proved wrong but surely Cousins can do better with the budget as his disposal.

who told you that:confused:

Er, Tony Folan did.

Any other questions?

When Tony was with us last time he played quite well for us I thought, although it was obvious his fitness was poor. If he gets back into shape he will be a v good acquisition

something needs changing with the current squads efforts ......no harm in giving him another shot

Any chance we'll see Tony playing against us next week?

Scored a couple of very important goals for us, but generally wasn't good enough.

One chubby, underperforming, cross-channel/Bohs reject is
enough for any team.

He can't sign for a professional football club until the transfer window opens in July.

I suppose that only confirms what you are saying. :D

unattached players with no binding contracts can sign at anytime. The july window applies to transfers only.

Still whatever Terry i am really glad that he is not coming back to Terryland as he is over the hill and down the pub most night I guess .

What age would he be now?

Always wondered what he'd be like if he was fully-fit and trimmed down a bit... im not sayin we're gonna see that or anything....

Was told he's only 27. Couldn't believe it, thought he was well into the 30s.

id say that would be right my town .Met one of the new signings on saturday from the shannon bus in oranmore and dropped him to Athenry which now has six united players living there. This lad had already played in a friendly against Salthill and was coming back early to get match fit for July.Cant give you his name but its great to see Tony getting his business done early.

if he can slot into midfield it might force TC into putting murphs further up front.
