Kevin Hunt is eircom League January Player of the Month
Bohemians captain Kevin Hunt has been named as eircom/Soccer Writers Association player of the month for January.
Bohs, of course, won the eircom League title during the month and nobody played a more influential role than the English midfielder. A commanding performance in what turned out to be the title decider against Shelbourne was another reminder of his importance to the club.
Hunt, 27, joined Bohs in December 1998 after two years spent plying his trade in the Far East and helped the club avoid relegation in his first season at Dalymount Park. But things rapidly improved. In the 2000/01 campaign, Bohs won the league and FAI Cup double for the first time in 73 years and he has been involved in many memorable European games for the club as well.
Hunt has now made 129 starts plus four substitute appearances in the eircom League and has scored five times.
