We have three that we use.. used to be four, but we turned one into a kids lounge/milk bar. I think there are another one or two used by the players/directors

Most clubs up here have a social club which always has a licensed has a bar. Only club I can think of that hasn't is Institute and I think there plans are to get one.

Dundalk...
That'll be an iron bar in case it gets a bit handy outside post-match
I thought Stute were against having a bar in their ground? Hopefully the new Finn Park will include copious refreshment facilities.

Yep we do, open on match nights only at the moment. It is a work in progress at the moment with bits being done on a weekly basis as the money is raised.

Gavin, you are so hilarious. There is a door by the carpark. The bar is still open, has never closed.
We are not overly particular about who we let in. Obviously you have not been allowed in. :D
Have the MFA a bar inside their ground in Turners Cross. I cannot recall one????

They are as they're on YMCA grounds but I think they're trying to sort something out.

In Drogheda you can go to the match and be a barstooler at the same time if you so wish!

Here he goes, all defensive again! I was talking about Inchicore, inferring that the guy-who-owns-the-pub-who-owns-the-ground might one day think he'd get better value out of the land by pouring concrete on it.
The MFA don't have a pub in the ground as they'd never get a license for one, what with another pub just meters away on the same street in a residential area. However, aided by the fact their anchor tenants are one of the few clubs in Ireland with real potential to create a viable, profitable club, they have got an all-seated, and soon all-covered, ground with fantastic facilities and not an empty shell barely able to host a premier division match let alone a UEFA one. Better yet, its in the right county!

Sure does, a rovers fan narrowly missed my head with a pint glass there a few years ago.

Apologies, my mistake, thought you were off on another of your anti-Drogs rants:D

The Drogs have a bar in the ground and the Windmill House is as close to the ground as the Horseshoe is to Turners Cross.

That's what Cork Hibs/Celtic/Alberts/United etc said:eek:

As against ours being in Louth / Meath / North Dublin:D
Dundalk have 2 bars, both open on match nights, the bigger one (under the stand) opens every night of the week.

Except for Rovers fans. They play midweek cos they rent out their bar on fridays. You could not make it up.

Nothing stopping rovers fans going to either of the bars if you go to the stand. The away terrace is right next to the side door of the main bar, hence you couldn`t have 500 away fans in at the same time. Wouldn`work.
Re mid weeks, thurs although not my personal favourite night for games, it works for the club and has done for over 15 yrs now. It is true the main bar is rented out for parties most weekends, (an excellent source of income to the club) but this hasn`t stopped us playing occassional big matches on fri nights if need be, finn harps last season, 2 yrs ago v drogs in the live tv fai cup game, and the semi final v rovers in 2002 are a few that spring to mind.
There will be one in the new Finn Park AFAIK.
Should be a great source of income for us. The Athletics club have one that is open 7 days a week and make a mint for their club so hopefully the same will work for us.
Have been in most clubs bars - United Park, Dalymount, Oriel, Monaghan, Kildare, Whitehall but never Tolka. What's it like?

waterford united have a members bar,
you can pay a few quid extra for your season ticket and bobs your uncle,
free beer for the season (all sponsored of course)
