Reports in The Star today say that Shels paid €70,000 for Jason Byrne -do they really have that much money?

Sounds like a funny story. Ain't no way SH€£$ paid anything like even half that money.

Then again shels did have a benefit night for "the floods" recently. Jeez i wonder why people cynical of Ollie Byrne.

Nowhere near €75,000. More like €25,000. Don't believe everything you read in the newspapers. How can Shels afford it? Good management.

Face it Dodge. You're always saying we have no fans. So therefore we don't get great income from gate receipts. Yet we're able to go fulltime, go to training camps abroad and splash out €25,000 on Jason Byrne. Stands to reason that the Board of Management is doing a good job, love them or loathe them.

Ok 3 things

1) The Donnolly's have ploughed money into you..
2) You sold your soul to man u
3) Of course all ollie's deals are above board ;)

Oh and "training camps abroad" ahahahahaha

1] How long are the Donnellys out of Shels?
2] We take Man Us money, for very little in return. Hardly selling our soul. Most other boards would love to be in our position.
3] Pat Fenlon on the radio last night, mentioned Shels are going to Marbeille to a training camp next month. Marbeille, if you check, is overseas.

It sounded foreign anyway.

It's a fairly expensive place... Sean Connery mores his boat there... could cost a very healthy sum for a travelling party of maybe 30... smell a rat???

Pat mentioned that all the travelling party were contributing towards it financially. Which incidentally makes a nonsense of other claims that our players don't give a **** and are only motivated by money.
There's a friendly lined up over there against a team from Sweden [I think] When they get back apparently they're trying to line up a friendly against Linfield, which should be interesting to say the least. Hands across the border, armalites at forty paces, that sort of thing.

The donnelly's paid for Tolka and the bars there, thats where the money comes in....
Sold you soul...
Who gives a flying **** about training camps abroad. Pats go to the Sports centre in Limerick each year. Marbella may sound better but does it actually help more. seems like a waste of money to me. And if the players are asked to contribute, that is very poor form...
