Alex James, Bassist with blur has fuelled the speculation that guitarist Graham Coxon will re-join the band to record in the summer.
As reported in NME, "We're all heading into the studio this Summer - Graham's coming too. We're gonna see if we've still got it. If not, we'll just call it a day".
I think a fully reformed Blur certainly would have one more great album in them. That said, Alex James is a renowned ****-taker.
File under encouraging news but not Gospel.
Any interest in a new Blur album?

It'll be interesting to see where they go from here alright. IMO Albarn rarely puts a foot wrong and Coxon is one of the best guitarists around so, bring it on.

Yes please.
Bring it out the same day as a new Oasis album.
They'd both sell crazy.

Yeah - I'd heard recent reports that Graham Coxon hadn't confirmed anything but should be interesting.

yummy:)
As long as Coxon returning doesn't see Blur taking a step backwards musically I'll be happy

I'd love it if it were true.
Listened to Parklife recently, still a brilliant piece of work.

It's finally happened. Wonder what musical direction it'll take though.

Really hope this is true, during the Brit-Pop days Blur were second to none musically. Parklife was excellent and going through the singles collection there are some really good songs, the video of Song 2 at Wembley still blows me away

No mention of any plans to record yet - just gigs.
Without Jinxing it - I think they could have it in them to record a fresh and relevant album.................

It's hard to see how it's going to work. The band have gone in such different directions. But that said, Damon Albarn is on a great run of albums with Demon Days (Gorillaz) and The Good, The Bad and the Queen being excellent pieces of work.... Hope it's better than Think Tank.

I'd imagine a lot will hinge on how well the rehearsels go as to whether they record an albums worth of new material in the future.
Hard to see them ever functioning as a full touring band again.

I think they can do it, maybe thats blind hope but I can see it. Albarn and Coxon have both matured as musicians since their last full outing together nearly ten years ago. Its a mouth-watering prospect.

That's what I'm thinking. Coxon's guitar playing has improved over the past decade (from it's already high levels) and Albarn has gone on to prove that he's been the most significant name British music for the past two decades.
Albarn is such a perfectionist that I can't see it being anything other than fantastic.
2nd date added after the first date sold out in 2 mins

Good news! I was hoping they'd get a one day event of their own but can't have everything I suppose.
I was just listening to their "Best Of" the other night. Forgot just how good they were.

Anyone catch the documentary on Blur last night on BBC2 - "No Distance Left to Run"?
Enjoyed it - a band that reformed for the right reasons, for once.

I caught it, very interesting - I'd recommend it to anyone who has even any interest in the band.
would it be available online?
