Microsoft to block xboxlive downloads

With the xbox 360 you set up a irish account and got access to legal downloadable content , Each region offers different content while we here get great things like movie trailers and microsoft ads ,the US market place got 10 seasons of south park , full HD movies and other TV shows . In japan they got full games etc .

So setting up an account and claiming your region was the US gave you access to the US market place , But from next week microsoft will be blocking acces from other regions .


Great way to stop illegal downloads , block the legal ones !!! FFS :mad:

I don't get it, do you mean you (in ireland) register as a US based player? and they've copped to that? Or that they're removing downloadable content everywhere but USA?

They have copped on to it most people had 3 accounts a irish one a US one and a japan one to get all the downloadable stuff . but from next week they are blocking access from different regions . So irish accounts will only get irish ( europeen ) content . Which is really really poor

No its not, they're under contractual obligation to protect the copyrighted material they licensed from the owners. What you did wasnt legal, it was a failing of microsoft's, which they've since fixed.
