Does anyone else think Celery is just WRONG?

It uses up more calories to eat it than you get from it and it tastes like Rabbit's vomit. In the Restaurant in UCD the vegetable "chiili" and the vegetable "curry" (more or less the same thing) used to be full of the feckin thing. Absolutely hate it.

If you're going on pontlessness, sweetcorn's surely worse. It passes straight through you.

I've given up on it...they serve it occasionally (i.e. too often) in DIT Kevin St...it tastes of nothing. I actually can't think of anything it tastes like.

It is truly rank.
I hate the way people insist on putting it in Irish Stew too.

I love celery (or "bridges" as my eldest used to call it) and put it in curries etc.

As for sweetcorn, a day without it or onions is a day I didnt eat anything! Yum.

It's what has kept me at the top of the modelling world for nigh on twelve years now.

Hate celery. Was at a Chelsea game once with an ex, and she dragged to me this pub where bald tattoed hooligans singing about tickling a girl's bum with a lump of celery, while throwing shedloads of the stuff. Weird.

Chelsea have actually banned people bringing celery into the stadium now.

Gillingham also banned it years ago.

Some other English club involved in celery throwing, cant remember who it is
but an English lad who went to a few Town games with us was on about it
before.

Nothing wrong with (eating) a stick of celery along with a lump of filthy blue cheese.

No one asked you to marry it, just if you eat it or not!

With regard to sweet corn, if you chew your food, you give your body a better chance of breaking it down. It's the shell that passes through you. The same goes for sweet peppers. Anything which has a shiny skin, used to retain moisture in hot countries.
Chew your food, folks and stop examining your turds!

Well now that you mention it I would marry it, give it a false sense of security...then eat it.

Celery is lovely , like God intended , only in a big glass of properly made Bloody Mary. Still the best hangover cure I have come across.;)

Apparently male porn stars eat a lot of celery as it increases the volume that one produces:eek:

It semenly sweetens the taste of volume you produce.

By the way, at least we've managed to find use for celery.
We can fill a pointless thread with nonsense about it.

In all seriousness, a must when it comes to preparing your celery is to remove the periodonticidal 'ribbing' with a peeler. It will change [that part of] your life [which has to do with cooked celery].
