Bohs haven't completed the Robbie Doyle move yet.

Clive Delaney is in London on trial with West Ham as far as I know. If there is a deal happening with Bohs that hasn't been completed either.

Gary

They would be 2 huge signings for Bohs. I was kinda hoping we may have got one of them.

But i spose if UCD lose those two they will struggle big time next season.

Hate to see Bohs get even stronger though. What a defence they will have if they can add "the freak", plus Crowe and Doyle would be a scary combination.

UCD_4_Life
09/02/2003, 3:19 PM
I don't think we'll struggle too badly. We've got some good strength in depth in defense and Pat Jennings will replace Baz Ryan without too many problems.

My main worry is that we were poor upfront with Doyle, we'll need at least two more strikers if and when we lose him. I've still no faith in Alan Gallen even if he did win us the game against Cork.

Seems that the vast majority of clubs have far more outs than ins. A possible indication of an England-like transfer market collapse here I wonder??

Yeah and there is still 5 weeks to kick off. Most clubs get rid of players before they sign. us more than most it seems

Thanks for that Gustavo! We lost two fine keepers in the last few months so we badly a netminder we can rely on! Hear he was good from a few others. I just hope he has a bit more of an impact than our last Sligo blow-in Mr.Mannering! :)

07/03/2003, 12:45 PM
Derek McGrath is a centre-mid who played for Kilkenny in the season they won 9 points and then moved to Monaghan for the next season! :( :(

He's not a bad player, but he's another experienced squad player at a stage when we need to be looking for the next Robbie Doyle/Alan Cawley/Kev Grogan.

At least Sean Finn's still around - someone had been saying he was leaving as well.

Aside from Healy and Morris-Roe who I mentioned last week. A left-full named Cooney (not sure where he's come from), Brendan Sweeney (ex-Harps?), an Italian lad whose name I didn't get and a lad from Bohs we've apparently signed on loan.

Yeah I know about his exploits with Longford but I dont think he ever fired on all cylinders with us last year. Scored very few goals (3 I think) and seemed lethargic a lot of the time.

I think keely thought he was a bit lazy. Suffered a few injuries so that mightn't have helped.

I'm surprised he hasn't been snapped up by anyone else though .
