I just hope Drogs go.
Ideally Id love to see Ramblers, but its between Harps and Drogs id say.

I'd say it'll be Harps and Drogs in the final. Difficult to call that but I'll go for Harps.

I'm going for Drogheda, cause it's a short away trip.
be nice to see ramblers go up, and I´d be delighted to see the return of galway (9points and a few beers per season) but i think haprs are the bet bet- they have great support and a strong squad.

Well, I hope the Drogs stay up. I know a lot of Derry Fan's like playing Harps but, I'm not one :) Don't really care all the same if they do, heck, the points will be handy.

The heart says Cobh, but, the head and current form say Galway. Doubt Cobh could survive more than a season in the Premier.

I reckon Harps, but I hope Drogheda. With the transfer embargo and all the troubles, I really can't see them surviving next season if they do stay up, which makes things a lot easier for us!
Heart says Harps and head says Galway. Drogs are too knackered, or so it seems. I don't think they'll have the heart for it, although they should do Cobh.
Well Drogs are through. no great surprises there.

If you want to relegate clubs cos of financial irregularities then we will have a 4 team premier division.

Yup, the Pale thing is correct, added to the fact i just dont like Louth teams, although Drogs are the lesser of the 2 evils.
Added to the fact that i have never ever enjoyed a game with Drogs in. But i spose they are better than having b@st@rd clubs like Dublin City.

Don't know where you heard that. We probably have the least money of any team in the Premier Division. We're not in any debt though. Because of rules to do with the scholarship system, we have to submit our accounts properly every year.

What a great division that would be...
3 progressive clubs trying to be professional and forward thinking, and then UCD..happy to survive each year.
Contrary to what you might think, I am not anti-UCD, but I do have to question the motives and future plans of the club.
How will UCD fare under the UEFA system?
CCFC, for instance are trying to get a full-time professional club setup in place. Bohs and $hels already have.
Will UCD be trying to do the same?
How are they funded ?(Does the college pay much of their bills?)

We're getting a new ground as far as I know.
I don't know about being professional because a good few of our players are on scholarships.
Just because we don't appear to be coming on doesn't matter, if we don't advance we'll go down eventually. As long as we can get the points to stay up we've as much a right to be here as anyone else.

I'm not denying UCDs right to be there.
But what is the ambition for UCD?
To survive every year?
If a few clubs go fully professional, surely the students cannot compete with that, so what will they do then?
Does the club have to pay for this new ground or does the money come from the tax-payers through the college?

how come everyone thought Harps would beat us?
We'd beaten them 6-1 on aggregate in the league.
For tonight's final I don't really know - I've seen Drogs a few times and they were impressive but they're missing a few players and anyway if they'd played well all season they wouldn't have finished 9th.
If we can bring a 2-0 lead to United Park I think we'll go through, 1-0 or a draw could go either way but a Drogs win and they'll stay up.
Anyway 12 months ago I'd hardly have believed that we'd have been in this position, we were one of the worst teams in the country and now we're within 180 minutes of being in the elite 10!

Thats my point. UCD are a team in constant flux and how can anything be built on such shifting foundations?

Most new grounds are being bankrolled by the FAI and big name sponsorship rather than the clubs themselves. And UCD have a bigger sponsor than most.

I don't have to. We're gone, never playing there again thank all that is pure and right. Granted we'll probably be moving someplace even worse but at least if/when we get a long-term lease we can think about development without the LDMC pirates spitting on the floor in front of or visitors from Derry. I mean I've been called scruffy in my time but jeez...

I knew we were getting a new ground. So I know something.
Just because we've got a reasonably high turnover of players doesn't mean that our only ambition is to survive.

We're not all '******s' John! ;) I tend to enjoy Cork too for what it's worth (especially league cup quarter finals!). Nah, seriously it's an alright place, better than say Sligo or Newbridge any day! :D

Well even thought I was shouting for Galway 3-0 win means that the Drogs really deserve to stay up ,well done
