The Castlebar Celtic team are all members of the club. There are not all from Castlebar but they also play for the senior side. We are playing Monaghan United on Saturday at 5pm, it will be a historic day, the first Mayo club in the Eircom League.

The lads did brilliant yesterday, we were all so proud of them. Thats a good point gunner makes, one of our players was 16 ad he did brilliantly. We were missing our goalie and normal centre back also.

of the 4 semi-finalists from last season, 3 teams lost (bray succumbed to ucd) and sligo got a point!

Celtic were missing the following Senior team regulars Sean McHale (US), John Maughan (injured), Ciaran Hopkins (injured), Paul Walsh (injured), Rory Irwin (sick), Paul Curry (US) & Ronan O'Boyle (Galway Utd) as well as Niall Walsh (holidays), Josh Tierney (Mayo minors), Robert Hennelly (Mayo minors), Ger McDonagh (injured) & Eoin Torpey (injured). The lads that played were brilliant and shows the stenght in dept at the club. Well done to all involved.

Ya that him, are ye low on numbers for your u-21's ye only had one sub and the management didnt really seem interested in the game

Think our U-21 manager, Mark Hutchinson, is in charge of senior squad tonight as our own manager hasn't been well so he may not have been at the match. Normally our U-21's play the day after the senior team which would allow more players to go.

Well ive heard from some senior club members that the reason there was no management came from Sligo that there was a row in Sligo and the manager refused to come. Also the team had no kit and had to go back for it!!
