There's only one set of games left. AZ should win it now and there's no team more deserving, a joy to watch. The stupid Dutch system meant Ajax got the CL spot last season even though AZ finished 14 points ahead of them.

What are the final games?
Excelsior - AZ
Willem II - Ajax
Sparta - RKC
Roda JC - Heracles
PSV - Vitesse
NEC - ADO den Haag
SC Heerenveen - Feyenoord
FC Twente - NAC
FC Groningen - FC Utrecht

---

AZ have the best away record in the league. Excelsior are 3rd from bottom and will be in the relegation playoffs no matter what happens.

PSV blew it, imo. They were well clear not so long ago.

AZ blew it by losing 3-2 to Excelsior. Ajax won 2-0 and PSV pipped them to the title by +1GD by winning 5-1.

I've been keep an eye out for Alves at Heerenveen. He scored two cracking free-kicks at the weekend against Feyenoord. For the first one Feyenoord didn't even have a wall set up which may suggest the distance and difficulty it took to score from there.

With 34 goals in 31 league games this season, I doubt very much he'll be at Heerenveen next season, unless they make it into the Champions League through the playoffs. I wouldn't be surprised if he left for a "bigger" league. To put his goalscoring record in perspective. Klaas Jan Huntelaar was top scorer at Heerenveen in the 2004/05 and 2005/06 seasons with 17 goals each year. Alves has got twice that amount in one season.
