for me it was Broghans Free Kick. If the likes of Beckham, Carlos, Figo etc.... had of scored that it would have been on every bloody TV station across the planet saying the best free kick of all time etc............. Sheer Class. Byrne's rocket was a cracker as well along with Doyle's againist St. Pats and Ryan's againist Derry

Yeah Rico totally selling himself for the city job as hard to see how any non-city person could pick the goal + it was against Wanderless. Only other explanation is he trying to appease Trevor.

:D

Delighted it was Flynn, but Ryans aginst Derry was the pick of them, closely followed by Broughans.

i know it's not necessarily a contender but Adrian Murphy's goal for LT against the Shams on sunday was deadly. He took it really well. Was very happy to see hime getting it too - and only after coming on a few minutes before. Hope next season goes really well for him.

Just as good?
You said there were better???

I personally would have gone for Broughan's goal, but as J O'Fs was as good as the others, it came down to Rico's opinion.

Funny, no one said that Poxy King was trying to curry favour with Derry when he picked the 5th best goal as his goal of the month...

Believe me,King would need to do more than pick a Derry goal to get back into favour with Derry fans!

As for Pizza's goal (Liam Coyle's) only being the 5th best IYO, I think you're being very harse. It isn't always the finish to a goal but the lead up to a goal that makes them so great.

As for the GOTS...I thought it had to be Coyles goal in the final as not only was it a great goal but the importance of it justified it winning.

It was Andy Wilson vs Longford...no question...the pass, the timing, the volley, the look on Pauro's face as he watched it flash past him...i must have been 50 yards from goal...sheer class...

I would have went for Broughan as well. Crowe and Bobby had to be up there as well though, don't know how Coyle's even made it to the shortlist mind.

Twas my goal the first goal in the match against Longford that was the best goal. The salad before the match really paid off!

Much as I hate the **** it'd be Broughan for me to, if you ever see it again notice how he looks up and sees the keeper off his line just before starting his run up. Keegan's off the chest was a unique piece of skill and deserved some recognition also.
