A couple of months ago the Ports were flying; then they lost defender John Convery and their seaon was flushed down the superloo. They had the best defensive record in the Irish League until then; they would have presented a different proposition.

Yes it was not just their Setanta form that fell apart, just a few months ago they were genuine league title contenders and to be honest the team that I feared the most. There problem has always been strength in depth though. A good side if they avoid injuries and suspensions but once they kick in they are in trouble. They even got beat recently by relegated Loughgall, it was Loughgall's first league win of the season. A team and club though that I have quite a bit of time for, other than one of their esteemed directors going on recent behaviour. Genuine people down there that work hard for the club

Men against boys!

Portadown are ****in disgrace to the tournament, they just let Pats walk right through them (literally) for the third goal I think it was!

Agreed, absolutely shocking stuff, they seemed to walk through with the ball for every goal!

Don't forget that that was practically a reserve side for Pats too...
