John Kennedy the crocked Celtic defender (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Kennedy_%28Scottish_footballer%29) is looking for some summer football, he was going to play for Toronto but Strachan put a block on that because of their artifical pitch.
Some someone in the club contact Willie McStay and see if there is an in for us?

Are we going to swap him for Gavin Peers the crocked Rovers defender?

its just to give him a couple of months to get him match fit - he would sit be head and shoulders above anything in our league

Wouldn't be so sure of that , sounds like a fairly bad injury he had so theres no guarantee he would be anything approaching the player he was before the injury

Can't see it happening.

Maybe he would have been better than most in this league before his injury , but you cant say for sure what effects it had on him , it could have had lasting damage.

Gustavo - Better than most!
He was a stand-out for Celtic against Barca at the Nou Camp before his injury. Can't see too many EL centre halves every reaching that level.
That said it was a very serious injury and I hope he comes back somewhere near his best if he comes back at all.

Exactly, Kennedy would be toying with LoI players

Why would we want crocked SPL players. If he was a striker we should consider it but not defenders, we're alright in that position.

I don't think you understand the gulf in class between John Kennedy and the centre-halves at Rovers.
However if it's a permanently crocked SPL striker Rovers are after how about Craig Beattie? I also hear Sebo may be freed up by Rangers this summer! :D

What the Glasgow Celtic fans here need to realise is that its all very well and good being a good player but when you havent played in three years due to serious injury it puts doubts on your ability to recover and be the player you once were

Obviously, since celtic are such a big club, John Kennedy would be infinately better than any eircom league player. Seems pretty simple to me

True. And i wouldnt say colin healy will be "toying with the irish players" or "head and shoulders above anyone else in the league".

I don't recall Colin Healy ever accomplishing much at Celtic. John Kennedy has performed admirably in the later stages of European competition.

We'll see then shall we? Im sure John Kennedy will be strolling like Franco Baresi through entire EL teams as Sligo march towards the title, while colin healy laments ever setting eyes on mick mccarthy.

Seriously I'm siding with GavinZac on this one....that attitude is the problem with our league!

its a touch of reality - the guy is probably one of the best prospect to come out of Celtic in the past decade and like it on not Celtic are on a different level to Sligo Rovers.

Agreed, Sligobhoy, but Celtic are improving.

anyway - back to the point - shouldnt someone contact Willie Mc before he goes to Helsingborg for a few months
Kennedy may do a job for Sligo but I honestly would not replace Murray or Kelly in the City team. Murray is proven quality defender & captain & Kelly is improving every week & could be very valuable asset in the future.
