Depends on whether the Club get/look for a sponsor
for the new stadium i.e. Flancare Park, Century Homes Park etc.

You know when you come into Athlone from Longford and you cross over the by-pass. Then the next left into the new Regional Sports Centre. In the first pic you can see the floodlights of Mel's just left of centre. The second pic shows the RSC and hte third one is looking at the by-pass, its behind the line of trees.

ah yeah - i see it now. Its a pretty good location: out of town (but not by far); near by-pass; etc.
The pics are good - fair play

HOPEFULLY IT'LL BE WARMER THAN THE SUB ZERO(ST. MELS). O2 HAVE SPONSORED DROGHEDA'S GROUND AND HELPED BAILED THEM OUT SO MAYBE THE CLUB SHOULD SET IT'S SIGHTS ON A MULTI-NATIONAL COMPANY WITH SOME DOSH ON THE HIP. AS ONE OF THE OLDEST CLUBS IN THE COUNTRY ATHLONE DESERVES A GROUND THAT'LL ATTRACT MORE PUNTERS THRU THE TURNSTILES. BOHS ARE MAKING GREAT INROADS WITH THEIR FAMILY POLICIES, THEY HAND OUT FREE TICKETS TO THE LOCAL SCHOOLS AND THAT WAY THE PARENTS COME ALONG AND BRING MORE VITAL REVENUE TO THE CLUB.

Athlone Town tried a similiar thing years back with
players calling around to national schools to give out
tickets ... actually thats how I went to my 1st Town game!

Anyhow, what was happening was parents were arriving
to Mels, lifting the kids over the turnstiles and buggering
off then, using it as a free babysitting service!
