Wonder can anyone point me in the right direction.

I need a list of every player that has ever gained a senior Ireland cap, if such a list exist.

Thanks in advance.

Just send the FAI an email. They used to have the list on their site. They usually reply to an email in a few hours.

There was a book published recently (got it as a present) with Roy Keane on the cover  which lists all players who have ever played for us.

Question I asked at a quiz recently based upon it: Which surname has appeared on an Irish senior international soccer team sheet more often than any other? In other words of the 416 players who represented Ireland, which surname crops up the most often?

I totted it up a few years back and it was a three-way tie between Kelly, Dunne and (O') Byrne. Things may have changed since then, however.

i have a football encyclopedia from 1999 that lists them all, that would be fairly easy to update. i'd type it up as a last resort, but get on to the FAI about it!

No - that was the team of Gary Breen's you're thinking of.

There's only one Cascarino....

This Japanese site seems to have a complete list: http://scifo.hp.infoseek.co.jp/irish/match/alltimecaps.html

On the topic of past capped players, does anyone know how many Jackie Hennessy accumulated? That site says 5, but this Shels fan-site says he won 4: http://planet_shels.tripod.com/history/internationalcaps.html

Definitely 5 full caps:
25th October 1964 - v Poland at Dalymount W 3-2
24th March 1965 - v Belgium at Dalymount L 0-2
5th May 1965 - v Spain at Dalymount W 1-0
4th May 1966 - v West Germany at Dalymount L 0-4
10th November 1968 - v Austria at Dalymount D 2-2

Think you will find it was his last cap he won in 1968 when he was at Pat's. He was with Shels from 1957/58 (I think!) up to end of 1965/66 season. Did he not then go to Derry City (in the Irish League?) in the early part of 66/67 for a short time before coming back down to join Pats? Played in the Pat's team that lost the 67 FAI cup final to Rovers.
