Suprised there isn't a thread on this already.
The Czechs are 1-0 up after 80 minutes. Cyprus are not a bad team at all.

I have it on good authority that San Marino could prove to be quite a handful too...

its over, 1-0 to the czechs
this result was always going to happen, we have to get something against the czechs ourselves, nobody else can make us qualify

Cyprus hold Czech republic to one goal in Prague, we should go there looking for a win.

On the bright side, that lowers Cyprus' chance of finishing above us.

Finished 1-0 to the czechs, a wee draw would have been nice

Did Slovakia not beat them 3 1 in Cyprus? Looks like Slovakia are good away.lets hope this is not the case this evening. Czech Rep just beat Cyprus 1.0.

The slovaks are very up and down, some good results but they took hammerings by germany and czechs
we should be good enough to win tonight

They beat a 10 man Cyprus 3-1. They were losing with 11 v 11.

You know I dont want to rewrite history but Cyprus are doing well and losing to them away is maybe not the stunnin result we thought at the time. Mind you 5-2 is hard to stomach

The wife was watching the Czech match online and apparently Petr Cech made an unbelievable save in last minute and Cyprus could well have gotten a draw from the game
Cyprus are a good side but they were dire against us a few months back. They played well though the time we lost 1-0 in Cyprus. I think they're the sort of side that are more than capable of upsetting the applecart but lack the consistency to be a really competitive team.

Cyprus are a good side if you let them play and they get their tails up. We let them play football in Cyprus and they ripped us apart. Their 2 strikers are excellent, even in the home game that Kerr managed, though it finished 3-0 to us, Cyrus had 2 golden chances created out of nothing by their strikers.

It's not great for us that the Czechs play in Cyprus in their last game. They'll know what they have to do to qualify, if we're still in the hunt at that stage.

In the case of level points what's the decider? Goal difference or the head to head?
McGinty

i'm nearly sure its head to head, and in fairness thats the way it should be
The Welsh have the Czechs next, be nice to see a few points dropped

The Czechs did a Devon Loch a few years back in their last 2 games, lost or drew with Malta when it mattered. Not worth hanging on to that one though.

Can't see us beating the Czechs but if we have our defenders back fit, and playing regularly, then we might just scrape a draw.
I wouldn't pin your hopes on it though if I were you. Tonight against San Marino we were not that great again. Better than Saturday but that's not saying much.

What odds we go to Cardiff last game needing a win?

its not the last game though ramondo , all the other teams still have a game , we will need snookers even if we beat wales i reckon

Our last win away against a decent team was in 1987 and before that in 1967.
The only glimmer in that record is the 20 year interval.

What, the Scotland game with the quickly-taken free kick when the ball was still moving?
It's hard to believe - but I guess it's true. I remember a drawn game at Wembley where Houghton missed a sitter and we had possession for about 80% of the game and it should have been at least 3-0 to us anyway.
Jeez, that's pretty poor.
(Have we not won away in Denmark and Turkey in qualifiers - or were they not such good teams at the time?)

We drew 3-3 with a lower ranked Danish team coming out of amateur status.
Lost another 3-0. Possibly you could make a case for the 3-1 victory against Turkey but they played 6 lost 6 in that group.

were we to get a win in either game it would then be a massive sea change for the boys in green seeing as both teams are seeded above us
