On a related note, the sale of GUFC merchandise has passed from
GUST to an a local individual who has operated a sports retail
outlet in the city centre. He effectively operates the club shop,
and the sale of GUFC merchandise, on a franchise basis.

We have been told that prices of club merchandise in Terryland will remain the same - E45 for adult jersies, E35 for childrens jersies, E10 for scarves.

Thanks to Tom Timothy and the MRU volunteers who have given their free time to promote the club and sell merchandise to our supporters
in the past.

The club shop in Terryland has no connection with Galway United FC.

The only way to ensure that any money you spend in Terryland Park goes directly to the club is to buy a programme or a Lotto ticket.

Thought it very strange myself on friday night that the club would let the selling of merchandise fall out of their own control !

1.Hear, Hear! Well done to Tom and others volunteers.
2.'Scuse my ignorance but what does the acronymn MRU stand for?
3. Am I getting this right - all shop proceeds up to last Friday night went directly to the club and that is no longer the case?
4. Did the shop cover its costs up to last Friday night - excluding the important part, that the labour was "free"?

MRU = Mobile Retail Unit that took in over €15,000 over christmas on merchandise and season Tickets Sale.

The shop has always covered itself and you can imagine how much will be taken in on the night of the sunderland game. Iremmeber the cup semi finals taking in over £6,000 in one game.

Why the decision to let go control of the shop?

Presumably for financial reasons.
