Sport features:Irish manager Steve Staunton says that his charges made life difficult for themselves against the Welsh]

Robbie's out and Doyle's not match fit (according to Stan!)

He will have to of course start Doyle, but what is the team now? (and don't state the obvious i.e sh!te"!)

YES! Exactly. I'm telling you...Stan learns from his mistakes and people need to realise it. He brought Carsley back into the side after the mistake of not picking him. He changed Stephen Ireland's position yesterday when it didnt work in the first half. And you're right - he admitted clearly that the performance wasnt good yesterday, after the San Marino criticism.

Name a manager in the premiership who is willing to correct mistakes? Benitez with Gerrard on the right for example??? He'll never admit hes wrong on that...

He had no choice about Carsley. Every man & his dog was telling him to play Carsley. Even so he was still reluctant "I know what Lee can do..."

After Saturday, I honestly don't know what he has learnt! Not much.

What about Kenny, we let in goals in against the Czechs & San Marino that were savable. Only for injuries we could have Henderson in goal again on Wednesday:eek:

We have an excellent midfielder, currently starting with a permiership team, who can't even make the squad.

And where is Morrison?

Douglas, jeez. I could go on & on & on

He does not have a clue.

He was forced into recalling Carsley due to a number of injuries and Carsleys subsequent performance nailed down his place. And yes he did change Stephen Irelands position but the should have never been out there in the 1st place.

And for the record Benitez has it right with Gerrard on the right. He's not a centre mid and never has been despite what he rights in his book. You need composure and a footballing brain to play in the middle.

Ha ha that's a bit farfetched saying Gerrard isn't a central midfielder....however Benitez is right because Sissoko and Xabi Alonso are top midfielders as well, so anything to accomodate htose two and have Gerrard on the field is not a bad move

Benitez was at Croker, spilt a bit of an acquaintance's pint...lucky he wasn't thrown in the Canal.
