just looking at the two live games I reckon the current Pats team would beat the current Ireland team

Let me see better midfield .... Yep probably would. Pat's don't have any posing skangers playing for them :D

on this topic aside from Joey (who's obviously not elligible) which Pats players wouldn't make the Ireland team if Ireland had a decent manager? I'd be a bit worried about Stephen Quigley and Rooney but think it'd be a walk in the Croke Park for the rest.

I agree, but I also agree you're not the only club in the league that would! ;)

In fairness Barry Ryan and Fahey are **** hot and deserving of call-ups . . . well, ahead of Colin Doyle anyway.
I don't know what Doolin was thinking getting rid of him.
Was there an argument or something there?

In all honesty I think close to every side in the premier would have beat them on saturday.

I think we're fairly close to the point when the question must be posed; is this Pat's side the greatest LoI team ever assembled? Intuitively it seems a little premature, but I can't think of any reasonable objections.

The only 3 that gome close are the title winning sides of 1990, 1996 and 1998

I was a big fan of the 3-5-2 1999 winning team too.

Centre midfield trio of Gormley - Osam - Russell was probably the best midfield combination this country has ever seen, until Mulcahey - Fahey - Ndo - Kirby came along!!

Yes but so would Derry, Drogs and City at least
