I am. I think the occassion will spur them on and Wales will sit back and hope for a draw leading to a confident attacking Irish unit There is just something inside me that thinks we will win and win easily.
Am I the only one?

I'm confident you have left a word out of your signature. I'm also confident the word missing is 'get'.

i used to be confident but after cyprus and san marino.
of course they will be up for it and it should spur them on but will it make them any better? we look lost at the moment need to play the ball on the floor more.

I reckon we'll win tomorrow with a fairly decent performance. However I also think we'll struggle on Wednesday.

I agree. It's hard to be confident after the last few performances. It could be a tough afternoon

Stan did make one good point in his press conference; if the players can't raise their performance for this game then we're all in trouble.
I think we'll win this one unless Stan gets his selection badly wrong. We need a solid midfield as this will be a tough physical game and we need an organizer at the back, that's not Dunne, that's not McShane (yet ) that is Given. Thank God he is back.

Stan has said that Stephen Ireland will start. I think the lad has promise, but he is not ready yet and will struggle. Hope I'm wrong.

I think we will lose against Wales. I will make the prediction that they will try and succeed to slow the game down. We might well go in front but will still lose the game. I hope I am completely wrong but this is the worst I have ever felt about the direction we are going in. It reminds me of the last days of Hand.

When was the last time we beat a decent team in a competitiive match - November 2001 if you call Iran decent 2 months earlier if not.
That doesn't spur you on!!?!

Never felt so pessimistic about our chanes before to be honest.

I think you can be fairly certain that we won't play for a draw.

...beat me to it. I'm just basking in the refelected glory of your tongue in cheek (though still spot on) incite.
Heart says we can get something -but hearts pump blood and know jacksh1t beyond that. Head still says two-nil to Wales.

can see us winning 2-0 but wed will be the tougher game imo .. think though we will come out of the games with six points.

Apart from their two class players Giggs and Bellamy (are u watching Keane and Duff) Wales are absolute gank. They will be one of the worst teams to play in Dublin in years.
Ireland will win tomorrow two or three nil.
And the sun will shine again. And Robbie will bring all the lads to Diva and get **** faced. And Stan will be a hero and the media and us lot are all cnuts.
But order will be restored by the Slovaks on Wednesday.

Giggs is rarely the same player for Wales and Bellamy has scored 11 goals in 40 odd games. Half of them were probably friendlies and his goal in this group was at home Cyprus. I think they live on their reputation with the Welsh fans tbh. If Robbie Keane had only scored 11 goals at this stage in his career while performing so well at club level he'd be crucified.

Proper hero Robbie Keane. I'll never forget his performance against the schoolteachers and bakers in San Marino.
I wasn't backing Keane up at all with that post. I'm just showing the difference between the Welsh and Irish supporters. Keane is slated by the Irish and rightly so. Bellamy's record is worse and the Welsh adore him.

Having Given back in the team gives me the warm fuzzy. He kept Germany to 1 goal. He would not have left in 5 against Cyprus, I'm not saying Keeny was responsible for the 5 golas but Given's presence and leadership would have helped the defense. He also wouldn't have gifted San Marino the goal that Henderson did and you could arguably say he would have saved the goal the Czechs scored in Dublin. He is probably our best player. Scratch that, he is our best player.
Staying on goalkeepers, why has Stan called up Doyle and not Randolph? When Given was injured the pecking order seemed to be Henderson, Colgan, Randolph. Now with Given back it was originally Given, Henderson, Colgan. When Henderson cried off injured he calls up Doyle not Randolph for the #3 spot? He's not going to use Doyle so what does that say to Randolph? I give up, there is no consistency.

Couldn't agree more with all of that.

We will win 2-0. keane in the firsh half and Steven Ireland in the second half. You can get 65-1 odds on this. just letin yis know. stick a hundred yo yos on it and it will pay for the week of carnage in September.

robbie is already crucified by a lot over here sometimes rather unfairly . He gets ****e service and cause of this drops far too deep to try to get involved in the game . Keane needs duffer to be firing so he can supply him with decent supply. Hopefully with Doyle beside him again and Ireland in midfield we will see the best of Robbie again.

Im fairly confident. Whatever about the manager the team with the best 11 players usually win games and i think our team tomorrow is much better than the Welsh.
