First round away vs Kildare. Should be an easy win. Either Shels or Pats in the next round if we win.

Nothing can be taken for granted as we play a totally different team in the LC. You only have to look at last year when Dundalk were doing awful at the time and put us out. I might head to this one.

Their ground is next door ( well across the road from )the Newbridge train station so...... that's the best way to go....No contest really :D plus Club House next to the pitch.....

You on bike from Belfield v me from work in Foxrock by car, LUAS, walk, LUAS, train?

Actually, I might miss that train. I could conceivably race you by car? How long would you take?

We could also face the winners of Bohs v Bray in the second round. Or be knocked out obviously. Depends on how seriously Kildare take it. Think we can take it that we'll have the reserves out, so if Kildare play an under strength team, we should win given the pre-season friendly.

Want to win and get Shels in the next round. :)

Want to win and get Shels in the next round. :)If we get Shels in the next round will they be able to field their loan players? Isn't there a rule about loan players facing their permanent team, in this case, Shels vs UCDD U21s.

This was initially switched to Tuesday in Belfield, but apparently both managers have now agreed on Monday 16 April in Station Road. The club are to come back to me to confirm this.

Should be a comfortable win on Monday seeing as our U-21s have already hammerred them, although I don't think they were at full strength. Nevertheless we should have more than enough to beat Kildare, especially considering their poor start to the season. I'd settle for a two goal win and a clean sheet.

What are the odds on a return to our former tradition of bowing out of the League Cup in Round 1?

Did someone say pint to pint challenge?I'm going to pull out of this lads due to lazyness and a slight cold. I probably won't make the match to feel free to send me text updates.

The key question is why Bald Student was online at 4am - is this a timing error on your server or are you that dedicated ?

Well, we're through - 4-2 on penalties after a tedious 0-0 draw.

UCD line up - Quigley; Long, Bermingham, McDonnell (McMillan), Kenna; C Byrne, Doyle, King (Bolger), McFaul, Bogdan (Purcell), Sammon. Subs not used - Gregg, Gallagher.

Quigey saved Kildare's first two penalties. UCD scored through Sammon, Purcell, Bolger, missed through Conan and then Conor Kenna - just like Alan Mahon all those years back - was an unlikely penalty taker and scorer.

Play Pat's away next; date TBC.

Edit - game set for 7th or 8th of May. Probably Tuesday the 8th.
