FOR SHELS FANS ONLY
You favourite Shels players ever?
Mine would be:
FAVOURITES
Brian Mooney
Brian Flood ( only when playing centre back! )
Jamie Harris and Dave Rogers ( remember how the kept the ball at home to Deportivo )
John O'Rourke ( was awesome with Pat Morley )
Wes Hoolohan ( what a touch! Pity about the final ball )
Mark Rutherford ( a bright spark in dark times )
WORST
Scott Eustace ( Useless? on loan from somewhere )
David(?) Broughan ( dreadful right back from Bohs )
Alan Byrne ( arrived same time as Stephen Geoghegan -SHOCKING )
Tony McCarthy ( I can never forgive him for those two ( intentional? ) handballs against Rangers, maybe he had a few quid on the match? )
More to come....

FAVOURITES: Shero. Legend.
I remember one match where Shero was better than the sum of the opposition players.
In some games there were glimpses of brilliance.
In a lot of games he was dire -remember when we were away to Dundalk on the last day of the season and could've won the league, every time Shero got the ball he tried to hit it with the outside of his boot and usually put it straight up in the air or out of the ground  .

How did ye Shels lads rate Dutchie Dully. I remember when he signed for ye I was prob about ten following De Atlone and couldn't believe Shels had come in for him. But I guess he proved me wrong.... or did he?

Most liked/admired:
Tony McCarthy (ex-UCD, Gerry Thornley made sure our club got recognised regularly by mentioning the former UCD players around the league).
Brian Mooney. European quality goal in a European match against Karpaty Lvov
Padraig Dully. The chap enjoyed his football.
Neutral:
Sheridan. Great player....and can be a greater player.
Dislike
Its rude to criticise unnnecessararily on another club's forum but maybe Pat "Nutsy" Fenlon". In 1996 or 1997 Shelbourne came from behind to beat UCD at Tolka. The winning goal came, after a Shelbourne attack was tidied up by our keeper. The subsequent clearance hit the back of one of our defenders and Nutsy pounced. At the time it was said he was still around the penalty area 'cos he was too lazy to run back to his position.
The professional thing to do was of course play it back to our keeper.

Dave ****ing Crawley, one of the ****test players ever to don the red jersey. I play full back and I actually rate myself more than this gimp.
Also, Wayne Byrne and all those other fat lads (Quinn, Reilly, etc) we had last season were all muck
