Yes, because its the only date you can be reasonably certain that they will be installed by, April 21st is only 4 weeks away.

According to the Champion the new floodlights will be placed at the four corners of the grounds. A lighting specialist will visit the ground at the end of March, the work should take four weeks and they should be operational by the end of April.

Explained a spokesperson for the club ‘This is a major undertaking by the club, and we are pleased we have engaged a firm with a proven track record in this area. We intend to deliver the project in two phases. The first phase will see the erection of two new floodlight pylons on the new stand side, but it is our ultimate intention to replace the two pylons fronting the Jinks Avenue side with two new corner pylons. However, our focus at this stage is on the two pylons being erected over the coming weeks, and supporters can expect a vast improvement in the quality of the lighting.’

So only two new plyons going up, frig knows when the jinks avenue side will get theirs. Probably when they finish the turnsiles/gate or the ambitious new coaching centre.

Typical this must be the fault of the FAI as well, getting very tired of it all i must admit.
Agreed,
Im getting sick of the different kick off times and days, showgrounds looks like Sh1t, pitch surface poor for playing/watching good football, and now it looks like I'll have to watch the match from the RED stand. I've stood/sat in the jinxs ave stand for the past 15years and its just not the same going to the red stand.
Very depressing:(

the word disarray springs to mind. everything seems to be a major project for sligo rovers. they're getting the lights funded and a contractor is doing it - so whats so major that they cant do it all in one go.

Just the bases were up on the "New Stand" side.

The 2 Pylons on the New "Johnny Armstrong" Stand are up, and mighty impressive height they are as well, they look like double the height of the AW Pitch Pylons!

Think it will be worth the wait!
