I installed Norton antivirus on my home pc last week. Being on dial-up, I don't particularly want to go and automatically search for updates every five minutes, as it was doing, so I disabled it.
Or so I thought, as still every five minutes it tries to connect to symantec.com.
Can anyone help, without using the phrase 'don't use Norton, it's ****'?

I can't help. I can only tell you I didn't see the back of Norton once and for all until I re-formatted the hard drive:eek:

I know nothing about this area.
Got my laptop about 6 months ago and Norton is running out now.
Do i have to buy new Software every year or so to keep my laptop from going spastic.
