I'm afraid it's just a matter of time before the leagues oldest club goes out of existance. The club are going nowhere fast and no word of any activity regarding the new stadium. When a former and respected player fears for future of Athlone Town it's time to take notice. This club has been run by the same people for the past 15 years and look where they have put it.

It looks like i'll be supporting Galway Utd in a few years.

Dont think Town are dead just yet Dido.
Serious cash shortage at the moment but from what
I've been told theres some large sponsorship lined
up for next season.

Stadium of Tin to get a bit of an overhaul at the
end of this season making it a bit more respectible
for next season!

Heard a rumour of some committee changes planned ...
dunno if theres any truth in it though!

Oh No

I share your sentiments Dido. Even the Tony Connaughton interview last week had nothing about the new ground.

Ash says he heard they are improving Mels for next year and that there are changes on the way on the committee but what has ANYBODY heard on the new ground and future plans?

We need a major honest announcment from the club management.
