Just saw this on the other site and couldnt believe it. apparently because rogers played for both dublin city and bray last year he can't play for us until june or until the FAI get their finger out of their arse and sort this rule out. the rule states that no player can line out in a competitive game for more than 2 teams in a 12 month space from July 1st to June 31st the following year. it would be a kick in the teeth if we couldnt play him til the end of june so hopefully the FAI sort this out soon

It's a bit of a joke that Liverpool can sign a player[Mascherano(sp?)] who's played for three clubs in the past 12 months and clubs in Ireland can't. Uefa must have one rule for each club?

Idiotic rule...as it states you can register for 3 clubs but only play for 2 in the 12 month window. Whats the point being registered for a club if you can play official games...

Its a joke, especially in the case of Rogers it's not as if he chose to leave Dublin City is it?

I was just looking at the stats on Walk The Chalk for Bray http://www.walkthechalk.com/team.php?id=22&comp=7 last season Rogers doesn't seem to have played a competitve game for Bray does this change anything?

what some people haven't realised yet is that there is one rule for every other team in the world and another rule for liverpool

Walk the chalk appears to be wrong. According to the FAI, Rogers played 6 games for Bray last season. he definitely played in a league game against Longford http://www.ltfc.ie/fixtures/reports/match/?id=a2badc92-e9f8-4a64-bf64-0a55d18b4846 So there goes that!

Surely if a club goes to the wall it makes no sence for that rule to apply.
The player had no option but to join another club, if it became available.

yea that should be the case, tribesman
labour laws.if you were a factory worker foe example you cant be denied a job somewhere else just because youve worked in 2 other factories in the last 12 months(although they may wonder why your on your 3rd job in 12 months:) ).but a footballer seems to have to cope with different labour laws then someone in another profession.john marc bosman started the process of changing football laws and it appears another change is needed now.its F.I.F.A that need to get the finger out.
