Point it out to the FAI. If they don't change it then, then maybe you have grounds for complaint.
It's not a case of saying "it's only a small thing" and forgetting it. It's a case of saying that the FAI have inherited the rubble of the league and are now trying to build a competent and functioning league and structures. Doing that, things will go wrong. A wrong crest on a new website doesn't affect anyone in a practical sense, and therefore isn't a big deal in the grand scheme of things.
Barney,
It may have escaped your attention but I am sorta persona non grata round the FAI at the minute;)
The FAI are indeed buidling a functioning league but I am not expecting Gran Favin* to be designing the website....
There will be people who were employed to do that and they should have got it right. Email the clubs, get them to email the crests.
It is not huge in a practical sense but "brand" is a hugely important and as others have said, if we start off on the wrong foot.
Even their previews are hugely disappointing. They could have been written in two minutes each....
Can you imagine any organisation attempting a rebrand and then producing a website short on detail and with errors?

That idea's crossed my mind before, it's not as ludicrous as it sounds. Maybe we should have personalised threads/forums where posters can leave messages of support and encouragement for G McD, JD etc.
Is there a tumbleweed smiley, cause we may need it!

You're definitely an FAI employee. That's the ****-eyed spin that Gran Favin has been pushing in the media recently. It's as if the FAI were totally unconnected to the league before now.

A wrong crest on a new website doesn't affect anyone in a practical sense, and therefore isn't a big deal in the grand scheme of things. You'd think so but the FAI seem very concerned about their new league logo being used properly. You should see the volume of crap they sent to clubs along with the logo (assuming you didn't write it obviously :D) so you'd think they might pay as much attention to other people's logos.

Fair enough, I'll go with you on the fixture thing, but I still think these things are going to happen in a new set up.
The registration issue? Should a lot of the responsibility for that not lie with the clubs as well as the FAI?
Certain clubs being without players because they werent notified of the 3 clubs in one season rule is also a big error on their part.
... Eircom LOI.ie it should be Eircom LOL.ie!
Thought I was the only one who was thinking that.
loi.ie looks too much like lol.ie :(
If people are unhappy with things on the website. Better to send them an email showing them the mistake than bitch about it here.

LOL I reckon some people on here want the league to be the usual farce just so they can say "I told you so" and have a pop at the FAI. Exactly the small minded attitude that's holding our league back.
We really don't. We just expect it to happen. Most of us can extrapolate from past events.
The more worrying thing is that the mistakes are still happening in the new, better run, league. The season started today and it was only a couple of days ago that someone spotted a problem with the registration of 30 or so players. We came very close to a trip to the High Court there.
What's the story with this? I didn't hear anything about it before.

Agreed. They have a contact email at the bottom. I don't see any point in being bitchy right now. Offer information, constructive criticism... if it's ****e in a couple of months, sure, moan, but for now, it's clearly a work in progress.

I would but there is no contact e.mail on the site:rolleyes: just the usual F.a.i one
Question one: Are they responsible for the content of all there links?
Question two: About two years ago the league of Ireland hall of Fame was removed from the fai.ie I would like to see it back, Johny Matthews and Paddie Coad were def on it, where is it gone?

They do link to a Derry City site (possibly unofficial ;) ) which in turn links to a highly controversial blog - seems like someone may have to fine themselves...

They only link to fai.ie and the clubs sites they are already censoring, so it doesn't matter.

Cobh Ramblers 0-2 Limerick 37
Padraig Moran scored twice as new boys Limerick got off to a winning start at St. Colman’s Park to stun promotion contenders Cobh.
Veteran striker Moran headed home David Goldbey’s right wing cross for the opener on 50 minutes.
Nine minutes later Moran was there again to punish a dreadful clearance from Cobh keeper James McCarthy and fire home.
McCarthy redeemed himself with a 74th minute penalty save from Goldbey, but Limerick had done more than enough to take the points.

How do you reckon they knew it was a 'dreadful clearance' if they clearly had nobody at the game? :)

Not sure if your aware of this one or not, I know its on the fai site rather than the loi but it's pretty useful anyway.

Wow, that's quite Aertel-like. Makes me eager to see Penrose's site now.

In fairness, at least it mentions stuff which makes it possible they were at the game.
Aertel's report would have been -

The win takes Limerick up to joint top of the table. They play Shelbourne in May sometime.

Or possibly...
Shelbourne's chances of Premier Division success next season were helped when fellow promotion contenders Limerick dropped points last night.
The Dublin club were bravely fighting back from a controversial goal down to Kildare when Moran scored twice for Limerick.
Limerick may have got the 3 points, but they'll be looking anxiously over their shoulders at Shelbourne who are hot on their tail with only 2 points in it, and32 games to go.

Don't think there's a Shelbourne bias on Aertel, in fairness!
However, in the league...
