Great news that Brian Carney could join Munster today. It will boost up our backline for the world cup, I dont think he'll be a starter but a good option on the bench!

And I don't even own a hat.

There are at least 5 wingers ahead of him.

It will all come down to if he adaptes to the game quick enough. I think he could be a good asset if he does. Big, powerful and quick!!
I can only see Hickie, Horgan, Trimble, ahead of him, Murphy is more suited to full-back!

Point taken, but i think Fitzgerald has alot more to prove but the same can be said about Carney in Union. The IRFU wouldnt sign him if they thought he wasn't capable of doing a job for Ireland, I'm sure Eddie as been consulted on the matter.

Ireland isn't short of wingers, we could take a few injuries there and still put out a strong team, so it's not really critical who's on the bench.

I hope he does sign anyway, more quality players chose from. All we need now is a couple of props and a quality back-up for O'Gara
