Extract form BBC sport:

Wolves striker Stephen Ward has been named as the Championship's player of the month for February.
Ward, who joined from Irish side Bohemians in January, scored three goals in five games during February.

He was on target against Plymouth, Burnley and Ipswich as Wolves took 13 points from a possible 15.

The other contenders for the award were Plymouth striker Scott Sinclair, Sunderland winger Carlos Edwards and Leicester goalkeeper Paul Henderson.

Should entertain a few people...

Typical! I notice that Coca-Cola never gave him any Player of the Month awards while he was with Bohs. As soon as he goes to England he SUDDENLY gets recognised. Has he really improved that much in such a short space of time...hmmm:confused:

I got the clear impression that Ward wasn't rated at all by a number of EL fans. Far off from being Bohs best player, not in the top 10 strikers in the EL etc.
Looks like the lad has done very well.

He has. He's still wouldn't be a first choice for many premier teams here.

Yeah I think eL fans would acknowledge he had ability but just not one of the best players in the league. Looks like Bohs will be getting some extra cash based on his appearances not that they actually need it.

Another plus point for the eL. If Ward can get player of the month I wonder how well the best eL players would do...

Depends on their commitment. In the Championship the most important thing you need is good work rate, if they are prepared to work ala Doyle and Hunt they'll do well, otherwise they'll end up like Colin Healy :p

Ability wise though the Championship is streets ahead of the EL overall

Maybe I should be a scout:

;)

Seriously though, he must have been a different player for Bohs as it was clear to me he was a very good player with the U21s.
