From what I hear they are amateur and only paying "expenses"

Q1 If we are looking for super duper professionalism why are giving licenses to amateur teams?

Q2 Why are they allwed to only pay expenses, the license system was brought in partly to stop all that shady carry on , people avoiding PRSI etc they should they not be as accountable as everybody else?

A1 Professional refers to the off-field affairs of the clubs - ie how they are run as an organisation. It has little to do with payment of players.

A2 As long as all expenses are declared, there is no reason why they would not be as accountable as everybody else. The licensing system was brought in in this regard to stamp out the payment of undisclosed expenses.
