Some press

RTÉ Television will be doubling its live coverage of FAI eircom League of Ireland matches this year, broadcasting ten of the biggest games of the season.

RTÉ will also broadcast both FAI Ford Cup semi-finals plus the final itself, making a total of 13 live broadcasts.

RTÉ Television's coverage of these 13 matches will also be live on www.rte.ie/sport for users around the world.

Coverage begins on Friday 9 March, as Bohemians take on Drogheda United at Dalymount Park on RTÉ Two at 7.30pm.

RTÉ Television's expert team will bring you all the action as anchor Con Murphy is joined by former Bohemians and Shamrock Rovers manager Roddy Colllins and Cork City legend Dave Barry, while Darragh Maloney and former Cork City striker Pat Morley will provide the commentary.

RTÉ Radio 1's Friday Sportsnight will have exclusive comprehensive coverage of all the action every Friday throughout the season at 7pm from this Friday.

The in-house expert commentary team of Gabriel Egan and Eoin Hand will provide live commentaries from the top games.

RTÉ Radio 1 reporters will provide live updates from all of the Premier Division matches throughout the programme, as well as match previews, post-match reaction and updates from First Division games.

Presented by Con Murphy and Gavin Jennings, Friday Sportsnight also features the ever-popular 'Brian De Salvo Column'.

Glen Killane, Head of Sport at RTÉ, said: 'This year RTÉ Sport is demonstrating an unprecedented commitment to the Irish domestic soccer league in doubling our coverage on RTÉ Television and online at RTÉ.ie to fans across the world, while RTÉ Radio's comprehensive coverage every week will keep fans updated with all the action throughout the season.'

Any word on who RTE are showing on Friday?

They wanted to show Athlone v Cobh, but Cobh refused when the FAI asked them would they agree to move the match to Friday night.
